Some updated cars in their hall when I went last year.

To me, the FWD 323 Familia is the quintessential model that brought Mazda into the modern age.

My all-time favourite Mazda is the 1984/85 323 GT.... my dream car and owned one in the early 90's. The twin-carb is a drinker though but it was a pleasure to drive then.

Wonder if there are any around as i've never seen one in years.

One of the Mazda I really loved but never got to own was the 90s Astina. Gorgeous design but boh lui then

Sad fact is the current Astina today is easily affordable but it's just a regular sedan and somehow screams GRAB.....haiz

Honestly their 80s, 90s cars nothing to shout about.

Yes they were uniquely styled, designed and handled really well compared to competition.

From an ex-owner, what I experienced was

- scary high fuel consumption

- plenty of small issues (nothing concerning drivetrain reliability though)

- very dated interior design

when I moved on to the G9 corolla (hipporolla) it was like moving to a new era - 50% better fuel economy, everything works smoothly like clockwork - all the time.

I think the current gen Mazdas are really the best that company has come out with  - this IS the golden  era.

I was considering this and Honda. Went for the Honda with EFI and more power.

Mazda always has good, sleek designs - 626, RX7, and the current ones. So conclusion is, designs don't sell, it's about costs and reliability.

Twincharged

Thanks for sharing.

The mazda gt gives good memory. I recalled it also had a turbo version that was not avalable locally.

The twin carb was really nice and raspy.

Drove a friend's 323 GT turbo b4. Typical ol'skool on-off turbo. Wild man on wheels...lol
