I was quite shocked at the figures too. Dont know real a not. They never mentioned source or how they come up to that figure.

Why shocked? Probably the buyers are from MCF.  And they pay full cash :D

I guess its down to how a "luxury car" is defined.

In SGCM, Camry, Mazda6, and Audi A3 1.0L are all listed as luxury sedans.

So, taking an average transaction price of $200K, $17M means 85 cars a day, or about 2500 cars per month. Not inconceivable.

In Jan-2020 where 5000 cars were registered, Audi/BMW/Merc alone already accounted for 1500 of them.

Just throw in a few fellali, lambotghjini, etc etc can liao.

Turnover isnt really a good sign of anything since more than half is tax and luxury market is super low volume for all that ... i.e. just a few rich people get richer selling luxury cars, imptce to economy not that big a deal imo

From end Mar until end May, there should be sufficient sales to prevent a crash of COEs mah.

COE price should weaken but will CVC recommendation push up demand in SG?

With taxi and grab ridership increase?

https://www.ecowatch.com/cdc-office-guidelines-coronavirus-2646124529.html

One of the most striking features of the recommendations is that they upend years of environmental activism that urged people to take public transportation or car-pool. The new recommendations suggest avoiding public transportation and driving to work alone, as The New York Times reported.

The CDC's new recommendations suggest making this cost-effective. "Offer employees incentives to use forms of transportation that minimize close contact with others, such as offering reimbursement for parking for commuting to work alone or single-occupancy rides," the guidelines say.
