Essential or non Essential aside. Barber infectious rate is very much higher. Imagine an infected hairdresser in close contact with different customer every 5-10min every day.

Barber don't need to talk to customer. Just cut hair and go.

For car sales, a lot of yada yada in showroom, during test drive and elsewhere, so there is a chance of fluid exchange... if you know what I mean.

Looks like not opening yet

just asked my agent and he say it is in phase 2

for now still online sales

there are also ongoing talks with MTI as showrooms not high risk retail

but opening up in phases is better than opening the floodgates and risk shutting down the economy again

no matter what it is a calculated risk one that can go either way

Speaking of barber. Now it is a must to wear masks even for the person going for hair cut, so how would the hairdresser cut your sideburn for you? Take out the mask for a while then wear it back again?

I suppose COE bidding will tie in together with showrooms reopening. If showrooms can only open in phase 2, so no bidding for at least till July? Oh no..

Not sure for other dealers, but for PML, they have products specialist that will test drive with you. Not necessary the sales people.

If they die die want to allow testing driving immediately on 2nd June onwards, these product specialists can wear the PPE like what the hospital people wear.

Customer must have masks on at all times while test driving and the seat is to be covered with a plastic sheet just like those used during car servicing.

BUT.... these product specialists will curse n swear in those suits 😆

Perhaps time to consider post covid way of buying cars. No need test drive, watch online car review and decide for yourself.

I think aircon environment should not be the main concern. If this is a concern then all office should not resume work liao, cause office is an aircon environment and all are centralise aircon somemore.

If car showroom is not open in phase 1, then COE bidding would not resume in Jun?

how to? coe will plunge if bidding starts.  who will confirm order if never see/touch/test the car?

now people are just putting down a small amount of dp which is fully refundable if they don't like the car when showrooms open

Is it possible that LTA will resume COE bidding? Clearly the dealers have pivoted their operations to carry out online / remote sales and will be more likely as the new normal...

Can't disagree but the whole CB thingy is driven by what is essential and what is not. It is risk management 101.  That is why hair salons can't do coloring, perming, rebonding and other fanciful stuff.

Is buying car essential? Is test drive essential. My answers are no and yes respectively.  But it really depends on who you ask.

one hand remove the earloop to uncover the ear portion but still keeping the nose and mouth portion covered

Any idea on when COE bidding starts

no idea.  someone mentioned showrooms can only open during Phase 2, so I guess earliest bidding will be in July

Phase 1, all hairdressing services resume.  Still I guess the authorities will take a calibrated approach.   If cases start appearing, hopefully not, things will change

If the practice by PML is approved by MOM, then I will ask my preferred AD to do the same, haha. Thanks 😆

they not scared coe plunged?  i don't think there will be much demand with the current economic conditions and worst of all is very few  will buy without seeing and testing the car

with the right pricing (read: discounts),  just need 1 AD to start the ball rolling and others may follow, who knows?

haha, just wishful thinking.
