My MIL say one and she is an expert in everything. Not enough. You need: The buyer (plaintiff) alleging the fake mileage. The seller (defendant) saying god knows what. The guy who sold the seller the car to state his mileage. The guy who sold the other guy the car before that...etc. The AD service tech to certify that that was the mileage recorded. The AD service dept head to back up the service tech. Head of the AD to back the service guys up. Head of the international company to back up the local head of the AD. Automotive engineering experts to testify that the mileage couldn't have been rolled back "innocently" by a Ferris Bueller method and driving the Paris-Dakar rally entirely in reverse (you know, like normal average Sinkies do all the time). Nobel laureate theoretical physicists to testify on the second law of thermodynamics and the arrow of time. Looks like justice is very easy to get in Singapore. 😁 Edited May 26, 2020 by Turboflat4 ↡ Advertisement

Else, you can take it that your used car's mileage has very likely been tampered, simply because it's an accepted industry practise. So sad that the tampering of odometer had been here for donkey years and spread until like no tomorrow that even quite high up level person can publicly said it without any consequences. This shows how bad the tampering of odometer it is. Haiz.. I really feel this tempering of odometer really need to put to a stop. Hope authorities to regroup and get rid of all the rotten apples and start all over again from the basic. Edited May 26, 2020 by Yewheng
Throttle2 Supersonic May 26, 2020 Share May 26, 2020 The solution to this all is very simple. the classic fine Singapore way. Anyone who is found to have tampered with ODO readings will be fined $10k minimum and or sentenced to 6mth imprisonment. Same punishment to the one abetting or instructing the culprit to tamper the ODO. Then media blast loud loud and circular sent to association of motor traders etc etc...... then sit back and watch who kena the first case. Why let all these cheats slip so easily? machiam woo fah woo Tien?

I think this one need to update lao.. Maybe can add in additional options for witness unable to attend to court to open up for video conference for court witness. Like maybe this witness is super tied up with work and is at overseas. Then this witness can just video conference at overseas as witness while the court still running concurrently. Very frankly, I don't see how a personal appearance by an "expert" from Mazda adds any value over a simple sworn affidavit when it's something as basic as mileage recorded from the odometer on a given date.

In this case, the judge already clearly stated that you need technical personnel from AD to sumpah in court. Our judge is very excellent. Next time register births in Singapore must ask the gynaecologist to come along and sumpah.
