I think Singapore needs more of a mindset switch to hire middle/elderly age people. In Singapore, 40 is considered 'old' in the workforce. Just having the 'career switch' and re-training is not useful if management just prefer younger crowd which can be more expensive in fact (asking start pay S$3.5 to S$4K with zero experience). I also find that the younger crowd may have a lot of ideas but when hit with a road block, majority just give up or plenty of excuses to try other things.

Roh96 6th Gear May 26, 2020 Share May 26, 2020 I think the job market is still holding on and we have not seen massive job cut. Partly bcos govt is paying part of everyone's salaries for the next 6-7 months. And for retail side, govt is also helping to wave 2-3 months of rental. Will see what HSK have to say this afternoon. ↡ Advertisement
