If your boss minds that you are driving a bigger and more expensive car than him, then he is very small gas and narrow minded boss. Not worth working for him imo.

There's virtual background and you can set it to be inside a mansion.

Then how?

I sometimes wonder, if at any point in time, did the supervisor or the boss ever mention that being upset that the subodinate is driving a better car, having a better and more competent/beautiful wife/ smart and cheerful kid and woes and moan on his misfortune? or is it just a peer " politics" to incite fear so that they are not pressure to compare amount themselves who is doing better ?

theres a reason why men dont go rest rooms together like the women do.😄

If the subodinate dictate the behaviour base on what the boss has, be it a newer car, a slower car, a eco friendly Prius, then what if its property.?

I would imagine many a times during the review period, there would be tonnes of comments on the appraisee missing the boat to buy property because the boss stay in a rental flat with his bed ridden parents.

I'd say if your management level mostly drive conti cars, you'd do well to to be more observant if they chit chat on cars. If it sounds like they equates their rides to their SES, then try not to antagonize your boss if you value your job.

My CIO drives a Jag XF, his 1 level down drive GLC, BMW 240, Lexus RX, Volvo S6, Audi A5, Merc C180,..etc. What do you expect the rest of the worker bees to drive(if they're even entitled to park in the office lot)? Of course B&B cars lah.

Btw, if your boss is an oversea expat where price of cars in their hometown is probably a quarter or even less than in SG, it's ridiculous to put down that kind of $$ to drive here. It'll be equivalent to daylight robbery. It's mental block, & you've to see it from their angle.
