You can never have enough power. Never ever hear anyone say have enough money in the bank, same principle.

Face it 75% of the 200k spent goes to the badge...

Somehow I don't see that when I'm on the expressway when the middle land is often hogged by vehicles travelling at 60-70km/hr when the left lane is clear. Try overtaking with a low BHP car, you'll get what i mean.

Usually either you have to wait a looong time, or end up doing a lane switch that will cause the car behind to brake and send their regards to your ancestors. 😅

The above no apply to road hoggers and those who like to cruise at 60km/hr in middle lane or 80 km/hr on lane 1 on expressway.

Actually I think it depends on the driver too. I nvr had problem moving to right lane when I step a bit harder in the split second to trigger my DCT kickdown BEFORE I execute the lane switch. It is that subtle sec difference that made the smooth cut. Of course, this cannot be done in malaysia.

Btw, I heard the new X1 has the boost function. Didn't get to try that.

I have a very simple yardstick.

Power to weight ratio must be 1:10 or less

Do you mean there is a boost function in old F48 X1 as well?

I don't think B38 has overboost.

For B48, there is a temporary overboost of 20nm torque for Mini Cooper S

If I am not wrong, the new U11 is using B38 1.5l engine and it has boost function. The old F48 X1 also using B38 engine confirm does not have boost.

"Vehicles with the M Sport package get paddle shifters with a Sport Boost function, putting the car in its most aggressive setting for a brief time for passing, or for hard launches, if you need that sort of thing."

I think it applies to B48 only.
