Many people just too eger to want to travel out of their own country. I guess sin - hkg / hkg - sin flight for Dec and Jan might sold out once the date of when leasure travel officially reveled to public. Now it is people that is waiting for the exact date of when can allow to travel that hold them back from booking, although some already start book even when the exact date is not known yet.

Unfortunately, those of us that must travel to HK for family/medical/business purposes have to fight for allocation on flights against those with money and time. Those that want dim sum and roast goose.

I do hope HK/SG implement first an application process whereby those of us not going on a 'jolly" can do what we need to do first.

At current pricing, maybe going to HK is about S$1k each plus a hotel and whilst I hope that prices most out the market, I still have a concern I cannot get the seat I need, that was left over already since March.

Singapore cinemas to begin rolling out compulsory TraceTogether-only entry from Oct 26

All cinemagoers are required to have TraceTogether app installed in your phone or have the TraceTogether token with you before entering the cinema. There will be a grace period until Nov 16 for cinema operators to fully implement TraceTogether, after which it will be the only option for patrons for entry. Cinemagoers will no longer be able to gain entry by scanning SafeEntry QR codes with their phone cameras or the Singpass mobile app, or the bar codes on their NRICs.

Bill Gates put money into building seven factories that would produce vaccine. Maybe one, maybe two will be useful so the billions spent on the others is pretty much a guaranteed waste already from the beginning.

"It'll be a few billion dollars we'll waste on manufacturing for the constructs that don't get picked because something else is better," Gates said. "But a few billion in this, the situation we're in, where there's trillions of dollars ... being lost economically, it is worth it."

For Pfizer to run the risk of dumping a few million doses of vaccine is a Jelly Baby in a sweetshop.

They'll make the money back somewhere. Not a charity after all.

Not a big pharma guy but I reckon they can easily retool the factory to contract manufacturer whatever vaccine eventually gets traction?

TraceTogether to be compulsory at cinemas

Quote

Checking in with the TraceTogether app or token will soon be compulsory for all cinemagoers, with the new measure to be rolled out progressively at cinema halls from next Monday.

There will be a grace period until Nov 16 for cinema operators to fully implement TraceTogether, after which it will be the only option for patrons for entry.

This means that cinemagoers will no longer be able to gain entry by scanning SafeEntry QR codes with their phone cameras or the SingPass mobile app, or the bar codes on their NRICs.

Finally NUS got good news instead of hamsup news

SINGAPORE: Researchers in Singapore have developed a breath test to detect COVID-19 within a minute, said the National University of Singapore (NUS) on Tuesday (Oct 20).

The test, which detects volatile organic compounds (VOC) in a person’s breath, achieved more than 90 per cent accuracy in a clinical trial involving 180 patients.

Hello? This is ownself blow ownself ok? ...And only allow one blow per passenger. Give one big blow so that the "stick" registers your VOC. Otherwise will need to re-blow. 🌬️

Minor changes really. Expect masks, tracking & restrictions to stay until 2022.

"Singaporeans have to be prepared to stay in phase three for a prolonged period, potentially more than a year."

(btw, "calibrated" is just another word for "slow" 😀)
