First tiny steps being taken on vaccine mass distribution...

So far I don't believe we have any specific vaccine time line yet.

He went to Lorong 18 Geylang.

Heng I went to a different Lorong.

I didn't know that Hin Sheng coffee house got Scan Entry - otherwise how would they know the covid case has visited?

Other Lorong 18 houses got no Scan Entry, so heng heng the case can put it down that he was 3 hours drinking coffee !

Today cases.

Don’t know whether any blood test was done on Dorm Worker

Quote

Case Details

a)    Cases in the community: 1

There is 1 case in the community today who is currently unlinked. Case 58431 is a Singaporean who works as a cleaner at the transit area at Changi Airport Terminal 3. She is asymptomatic, and was detected through our bi-weekly Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) of workers at the frontlines of COVID-19 operations.

She was conveyed to the hospital when her test came back positive for COVID-19 infection. Her serological test result is negative, which indicates a likely current infection.

She stays at Yishun Ring Road with her husband who is currently unemployed. At work, she dons personal protective equipment, including a face mask, face shield, gloves and gown. Her earlier swabs done as part of RRT were all negative.

b)    Cases residing in dormitories: 1

There is 1 case residing in a dormitory today. Case 58434 is asymptomatic, and was detected through our proactive surveillance. He was conveyed to the hospital when his swab result came back positive for COVID-19 infection, and all his close contacts at the dormitory and his workplace have been isolated and placed on quarantine.

c)    Imported cases: 8

Amongst the 8 imported cases, 6 are currently employed in Singapore. Of these, 1 (Case 58430) is a Work Pass holder who arrived from Japan and 5 (Cases 58435, 58436, 58437, 58438 and 58439) are Work Permit holders who arrived from Indonesia and Myanmar. Another case (Case 58433) is a Long-Term Visit Pass holder who arrived from Russia. They had already been placed on SHN upon arrival in Singapore and were tested while serving SHN.

The remaining case (Case 58432) is a Special Pass holder who entered Singapore from Indonesia, and was arrested by the Singapore Police Force’s Police Coast Guard for his suspected involvement in a prior case. He was tested for COVID-19 infection, and isolated until he was conveyed to the hospital when his result came back positive.

Unique persons swabbed of total 5,704,000 population: 1,218,120

All 323,000 dorm residents have been swabbed - so that's 895,120 unique community out of 5,381,000 = 17% of the community swabbed entire 2020. (or slightly less, as unique swabs may also include non-resident imports)

Plenty of potential remaining asymptomatic & post-infection cases to pick up.

(in fairness, those 17% probably targeted high-risk community segments)

Avg daily swabs last week: 30,100 - not quite the 40,000/day aimed for; some European countries currently have a population testing rate 2-3 x times that.

The last 3 cases are asymptomatic and detected via screening.

How could they follow those guidelines?

For ARI alike cases, it is mandatory 5 days home quarantine

Well, i guess i am one of the rare one still living in CB period. Going out only for essentials items. WFH, seldom dine out and take away food or do home cooking most of the time. Most of the time just stay at home.

If look at shopping mall and public transport can see most people already back to pre-pandemic period!

Unlike you, I had been going out more post-CB. Crowd then was much much lesser.

Lately, reduced dining out with recent crowding

Things starting to move very fast on the vaccine front. First UK approvals likely coming within a week, US dec 10th, EU dec 29th - even SG may get first approvals in dec.

Hopefully we can start to put all this soul sucking CV-19 crap behind us end of 2021.

Most Americans could get Covid-19 vaccines by Q2 next year, leading to herd immunity by fall: Fauci

Good for you, you are very safe since you are still able to live in CB period. Guess not all people able to choose or continue to live in CB period now, since most activities already resumed.
