We are not able to enforce or do a complete lockdown in the entire neighbourhoods like what China is doing if a single case pop up.

Their lockdown means almost full movement restriction.  AMDK will call this no human right.

Why not?

Even Msia do that.  Entire residential area being fenced up with barbed wire and guided by Soldier.

This is why still cannot open Phase 3 yet.

19/11/2020

Imported

1 (Case 58343) is a Singaporean and another (Case 58344) is a Singapore Permanent Resident who returned from Indonesia and India respectively.

Case 58343 has been experiencing shortness of breath since 11 November but had declared that he did not have any of the specified symptoms, including shortness of breath, in his health declaration form submitted for immigration clearance on 17 November. Investigations are ongoing to assess if there has been any breach of our travel requirements.

As Lawrence Wong says on the video. "phase 3" isn't really much different from phase 2.

The government approach remains conservative & he basically confirmed mask wearing & small group sizes  will last for a LONG time, probably more than a full year. Singapore will be a quite restrictive place for a long time. He even hinted at restrictions remaining post-vaccine.

Sigh...

Sian, 1 local case today. Counter reset.

https://www.moh.gov.sg/news-highlights/details/1-new-case-of-locally-transmitted-covid-19-infection-26nov2020-update

There is 1 case in the community today who is currently unlinked. Case 58401 is a Singaporean who works as a Service Engineer at Master Systems Marine Pte Ltd. His job entails going onboard vessels docked at Marina South Pier and West Coast Pier for servicing and maintenance of ships' navigational systems. He typically worked alone, and had no interaction with vessel crew except for a supervising crew member. On days when he was not working onboard vessels, he had remained at his office located at Vertex Building Tower B (33 Ubi Avenue 3). He reported that he wore a surgical mask during his work onboard the vessels and at the office, and that safe distancing and safe management measures were adhered to.

The case developed a fever and sore throat on 23 November night, and sought medical treatment at a General Practitioner clinic the next day, where he was tested for COVID-19 under our enhanced community testing regime. He was conveyed in an ambulance to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases the following day, when his test came back positive for COVID-19 infection. His serological test has come back negative, indicating that this is a fresh infection.

Epidemiological investigations are in progress. It was revealed that on 21 November, he had dinner with 12 family members at Seoul Garden at Tampines Mall. They had occupied 3 tables and there was mingling between the groups. Amongst those present at the dinner was his 2 year-old niece, who had earlier been issued a 5-day medical certificate (from 20 November to 24 November) for runny nose. She has since been tested negative for COVID-19 infection. Investigations are ongoing to assess if there had been any breach of the relevant safe management measures.

In the meantime, all his identified close contacts (including his family members at the dinner) have been isolated and placed on quarantine and will be tested at the start and end of their quarantine period so that we can detect asymptomatic cases. We will also conduct serological tests on his household and family contacts to determine if he could have been infected by them.

LW did say group in phase 3 can upsize to 8. It would work out better for restaurant business. Many families can have CNY reunion dinner liao.

You reckon there's deliberate timing introducing phase 3 shortly before CNY? (Feb 12, 2021) Could be. Too bad Deepavali & Xmas weren't beneficiaries. 😀

people need to understand zero case does not mean no covid.... it means our infection rate is less than 1 and the cases just die off without blowing up. It can be 0.1 or 0.99....

there is only a very small difference between 0.99 and 1.01 but the result can be huge difference...

my sis was asking if my kids want to spend the night over at her place during the school holidays but I said no as I am not sure if it’s legal and why add to the national covid risk.... keep unnecessary interactions down and it helps everyone.

just follow the law and punish all those idiots who don’t.

1 new unlinked community case after 15 days.

Wonder how this guy get infected?

Probably there is still undetected case in the community luring around, imported cases unknowingly sipped into local community undetected etc.

just look at HK "dance group" cluster ....

just 1 asymptomatic or 1 covid-guy have many touch points ... ho say liao

the dance group cluster in HK likely started by 1 dance instructor who has many classes and interactions with many dance studios

1 can infect 10, 10 infect 100, 100 infect 1000 .... [sweatdrop]

like bush fire ...
