India police arrest local journalist alleged to be spying for China

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/india-police-local-journalist-spying-china-arrest-13126026

"One Chinese woman and her Nepalese partner were also arrested for allegedly supplying Sharma with "huge amounts of money" for "conveying information to Chinese intelligence"...It added that between January 2019 and September 2020, Sharma received more than 3 million Indian rupees (US$40,799.67) from one of his handlers."

Same playbook used in US. CCP needs to be more creative. [laugh]

I don't know, everytime I read such story, I just cannot believe it. How much intelligences can this 'Sharma' disclose to his handlers? How many times he saw the plane flying or how many cows in the field? If it is just simply observation of movements over the indian side, worth 3 million rupees? It can be he did shares or gossip about what is happening at the border. Then he is used as a scapegoat lor.

You think the Chinese pay Sharma 3 million rupees to count airplanes and cows? Don't underestimate the Chinese. They're not that dumb. But you may be right about him being a scapegoat, as there may be more than one "Sharma" employed by the Chinese over there.

So what do you think this Sharma is capable of providing? Work brings his cows into the army camp?

India army apprehends Chinese soldier amid military standoff

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asia/india-chinese-soldier-ladakh-border-13313778

Corporal Wang Ya Long from China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), was apprehended inside Indian-controlled Ladakh’s Demchok area and was to be released soon. “As per established protocols, he will be returned back to Chinese officials at the Chushul-Moldo meeting point after completion of formalities,” the statement said.

“Based on what I know, one Chinese soldier was detained by Indian side, very likely because of getting lost,“ said Hu Xijin. [laugh]

However, when Chinese apprehended five Indians in South Tibet last month, the Chinese said the five Indians are "intelligence personnel disguised as hunters".  [laugh]

India, China suffer new casualties in border flare-up

India's military played down the latest skirmish as a "minor face-off" at Naku La pass, which connects Sikkim state with Tibet on the Chinese side. Government sources said five Indian troops and 15 Chinese forces were injured when a Chinese patrol was forced back.

I want to believe,  without the outside instigator, thing will settle down soon. What is there to fight over a 4000 years history? Biden got better things to do than those jokers that just left. India also need to focus on internal affair instead of a few that have personal gain from the instigator.

The two countries' arrangement for the disputed area is very interesting: since, 1996, no use of firearms and skirmishes are limited to physical altercations. So just hoot with rocks, baseball bats with nails at the end, and other LOTR-type weapons 🙂

No one cares about fighting in the middle of nowhere - they can fight all they want. Each side can lose 10M and still won't make a dent in their populations.

They must be fighting for smth, most likely for the river and lake there. The source of fresh water and power(hydro dam) for the region.

Same as sg vs m'sia fighting over sea territory and over a few pieces of sea rocks. Significance is in control of the shipping routes.
