Just realised 4 stations on the NEL are now WP areas

Clearly must shut down punggol and serangoon as a policy of "social distancing" to prevent spread of the highly contagious WP20 virus.

Pai seh, the article reads:

On Monday, the ELD also said it had apologised to 13 voters staying in hotels for their 14-day stay-home notice period who did not get to vote.

This was because their names were inadvertently omitted from the list submitted by Marina Bay Sands to ELD at 6.30pm on Polling Day.

So it is MBS fault. [:p]

would it have made any difference ?

But then it's the right for citizen to vote.. Whether it make a difference is another issue.

as expected, bad news comes after election

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-07-14/singapore-slumps-into-recession-with-41-2-fall-in-quarterly-gdp

Singapore’s economy plunged into recession last quarter as an extended lockdown shuttered businesses and decimated retail spending.

Gross domestic product declined an annualized 41.2% from the previous three months, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement Tuesday, the biggest quarterly contraction on record and worse than the Bloomberg survey median of a 35.9% drop. Compared with a year earlier, GDP fell 12.6% in the second quarter, versus a survey median of -10.5%.

This is fast... definitely cleared by upstairs.

Coming months could be interesting if this indicates a genuine intent to change.

Some ministers were defacto axed after 2011... wonder what would happen this time.

Only interesting thing abt it is who penned it (a former pap mp). But everything he said has been said in places like here for many yrs alrdy. Only question was how quickly the older gen move aside till the younger gen votes swing became significant

Self inking pen is good. I used that pen to vote, did not bring own pen. Perhaps maybe there are too many voters, that resulted in the pen ink being used up? When ink get used up, of coz the chop will not be clear already. So next time should standby more pen incase ink get used up.

Maybe instead of just "chopping".. many used it to "colour" .. using it up too fast.. like how children destroy colourful highlighters once they get their hands on them.

well, if we take a leaf from CCS, what is the reason behind the question.

And will the 13 people take the "honest" mistake to court ?

As usual, we been branded as a nation of compliant. But no outcome. Just want to draw attention.

What is the outcome that the 13 people want?

Sense of justice and equality no doubt.

But its like spilled milk unfortunately.

Behaving like a cowboy town and draw gun now and then because bau song will not get anyone anywhere.

Perhaps the 13 can get recourse 5 years later by having the right to vote twice?

Previous year profit comes from revaluation of investment property.

Of course, this year will be significantly lower

Heard this somewhere, since it's called a "pen", some seniors thought it's really a pen, and instead of stamping the X, they used it to draw an "X" ..... and wonder why the writing is so thick!! [laugh]

That's on the assumption NTUC can't pay him a salary. Can we assume he will work for free for the benefit of Singapore after he lost his 1m+ package as minister?

Lhl like getting tired of his pm post lao.. Noticed how much he had step aside and let 4g minister run the show since after GE2015. So expect him to tone down further.

I never have sympathy for him politically.. as my post history must show already.

Unlike his dad,  who lead from tbe front,  lhl had always been perceived as absent during problems... perhaps it's a sign of trust in his ministers.

However,  unnecessary political capital had been wasted on the allotment  or appointment of EP and AGC.. with pofma thrown in.

Oxley and the legal tussles of nephew and SIL... which genius tot it was a good idea 🙄

What kind of image is he portraying???

Together,  I think he has killed the recruitment pool for new talents joining the pap, the imaginative,  creative,  forward looking types gradually replaced with generals.. and more generals... the brand is now almost Trumpian.

They have serious renewal problems now it seems.

They must seriously consider if lhl is still the solution. 🤔
