If they got it from a traveler who doesn't have this TT app/token.. still have to rely on traditional contact tracing...

The worry is not HOW the fella got it.

The worry is who it was spread to

TraceTogether Tokens to be collected only from your own constituency CCs from Oct. 27, 2020

Earlier this month, it was announced that that the TraceTogether token or app for SafeEntry will be made mandatory for a lot of public places in Singapore by Dec. 2020.

There has been "high demand" for these tokens.

Starting October 27, members of the public should only collect the Tokens from their own constituency CCs.

You can click on this link to find out where is your designated collection point.

The public is urged to wait for the collection exercise to start in their respective constituency.

According to a media release, TraceTogether-only SafeEntry will only be enforced after everyone who needs a Token has had a chance to collect one.

You can use either the token or the app once TraceTogether-only SafeEntry is enforced. Both the token and the app records close contact data, which complements SafeEntry data recording by scanning QR codes before you enter certain places.

More details on the opening schedules of collection centres will be released later.

Because unlike mask, they would need to key in your IC number to link the TT token to each individual, very much like IU linked to vehicle registration number.

The whole point of this token is to track people.

The name is called trace together. How to do that without tracking?

There is no dispute that they are looking to track you. Question is whether they will misuse the data for non-Covid usage or if they will have another data breach.

In term of Tracking, SafeEntry is even better than Tracetogether.

SafeEntry data is saved in govtech server.

Tracetogether token data is stored in token itself.  With TT token/app ID, i wonder how it can track movement.

With TT, still gotta scan so it is at least on par with SE.

For TT, movement can easily be tracked by having bluetooth check points around the island.

Bluetooth has an effective range of 10m.  How many checkpoint is required?

To track movement, might as well install smart CCTV like what is used in China.

Is more to do with the government made it mandatory.

Human nature. If on voluntary basis doubt anyone would be bother to tamper with the token.

I will be using app still yet to download.

I suppose for us guys we will just drop the token into our front pocket so that we can whip it out for scanning purposes.

so my friend asking (because his little 3 asking) whether prolonged exposure to the token's BT will affect his swimmers or not hah ? [laugh]

For me I have nothing to hide.

If everyone think the same might as well cancel the token tracking cos no point. Ppl trying to play hide and seek.
