In the first place why do the government want to make it mandatory? Shouldn't volunteering basis and gradual migration a better fit since our daily case near zero locally.

This is wrong mindset. All precautionary should not be dropped despite low community cases.

Malaysia 3rd wave is a good lesson learned

I thought there is pressure to open up the borders, to allow larger scale gathering (religious, work, social, convention), etc.

Got to ensure we can manage the risk.  Can't afford a second lockdown and to spend another $100b. Much cheaper to spend a few hundred millions on tokens and testing.

Hope the strategies work, otherwise heads must roll for 劳民伤财。i really don't want to nest at home, so i will carry the token (also to protect myself and family as risk level will rise).

Think so far the number of imported tion and oz travellers with covid very very low. Hence govt have confidence to open the border.

We can set our own policy but can't dictate to China.

If go back must quarantine, not many will come. Maybe business travellers or to meet families?

So china policy still requires their people to quarantine when they go back from overseas? Only sg no need quarantine if swab test is negative?! Then no point if only one sided opened up border with no quarantine. No wonder even sg opened up for some countries to come to sg, but so far also never see many tourists from those countries come in.

I read somewhere that token is also mandatory in workplace, does it mean that companies need to buy the scanner in order to scan the token?
