I understand an inspector must be a trained auto mechanic and with few years working experience working on vehicles .The selected mechanics  must undergo vehicle inspection training prior to being appointed as vehicle inspector.

Thats in the past.  Now different already.

How do the inspector do a visual inspection on the engine serial number and other items if you did not open the car bonnet.

never check. maybe last inspection before scrap so he didn't bother.

Inspector: "it may crack/break"

Me: "huh, so i must take out?"

Inspector: "no, i'll pass u but other inspector may fail u next time"

Me: 🤔

Pls lor:

1. if it's really LTA not-allowed then you can't pass me

The is a video on youtube explaining why wheel spacers are not recommended, unless the wheel spacers are specially designed to fit the hub and the wheel in terms of the lip design. Something like that. With that explanation, better to be safe than sorry :D

So although the particular inspector may have closed one eye, i have heard of others failing their inspection because of wheel spacers in the past 2 years.

I went Vicom to inspect a few year back.

Inspector: "led reverse lights cannot pass"

Me: "Why? It's brighter so I can see better when I reverse at night"

Inspector: "Old car cannot fix any led lights"

Note: I can't find anything on OneMotoring website under:

Modifications that do not need LTA’s approval
Modifications that need LTA’s approval
Modifications that are not allowed

that says white LED pole lights, license plate lights, reverse lights are not allowed.
