There is always a choice. Land costs is all paper. Why 3k sgd here? Cos that is minimum just to feed one self. If the costs is JB costs then the fare should be RM 1.5 per trip too. 

That's why need to change those ministars who have been negotiating all these deals. They can only give give give. We want ministars who can take take take from other countries (not take from us).

     Easy , up the ante to match the reciprocal cost, Yes, in most instances if I sounds offensive, Malaysians will benefits more, not forgetting there are some free-loader here will also benefits from em, in the end, it is a matter of pride over prejudice.

Never taken a bus into JB on Saturday morning and see the crowd reaching all the way to the back of the JB immigration office?

Never stuck in a jam on a Saturday morning or coming out on a Sunday night?

Its very clearly us benefiting form the cheap petrol of course pumping only the legal 1/4 tank, buying up all their groceries and eating their nice seafood and driving up their cost of living.

We never complain they come here and buy up all our stuff from the markets and drive up our prices right?

Singapore-JB Rail Project Expected To Start In Nov 2020

After several deferments of the highly anticipated Singapore-JB rail link project, we hope Malaysia would stop playing with our hearts.

On Sunday (12 Jul), our northern neighbour has just confirmed news on the project again, saying that works are expected to start this November.

This is great news, considering how long this project has been put on hold for years.

Both countries to sign Singapore-JB rail project agreement

According to The Straits Times, Johor’s chief minister Hasni Mohammad said Malaysia and Singapore will be inking the agreement on the project end-July.

The project will be connecting Johor Bahru’s Bukit Chagar area – near JB Sentral – with Woodlands North MRT station.

More details were revealed concerning the project:

• Depot for train maintenance will be built in JB instead of Mandai
• Train depot will span around 2.83 hectares — almost the size of 4 football fields

31 Jul was final deadline granted by Singapore

To recap, Singapore and Malaysia had signed a bilateral agreement in Jan 2018 for the Singapore-JB train line, dubbed Rapid Transit System (RTS).

The project was supposed to have started construction last year, but was met with multiple delays. Some major ‘obstacles’ also included a change in the Malaysia government and the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

Singapore had granted the final deadline of 31 Jul to the project – suspended since Apr 2019 – as Malaysia still had about 222 project-related issues to look into.

As of last Monday (6 Jul), we learnt that 220 had already been resolved, though Malaysia senior minister Azmin Ali remained mum on what the remaining 2 issues were.

A dream come true for Causeway commuters

After much has been said and done over the RTS link project, we hope that this is the final deferment, and that works will begin smoothly as planned.

Once this project is completed, it would undoubtedly help to relieve the notoriously heavy Causeway traffic and offer a more efficient alternative for travellers and Malaysian workers to commute between both countries.

Fingers crossed that the project will proceed swiftly.

A dream comes true for causeway commuters ? ( As published )

Knowing the infrastructures of old Woodlands, it can be difficult, it was modelled during 70-80 era plus the removal Of Woodlands Bus interchanges and Woodlands hawker centres township, one can imagine how it gonna be like . . .

The notorious daily heavy traffic to JB were difficult adventure based on immigration checkpoint arrival were badly designed as cars and bikes are separated marginally close to one another with pollutions faced by ICA officers as health hazards. The angle of arrival entry for motorist's passport be check and stamped are an issue and these are area that need to be spent on to increase visibility and security measure to detect illegal person hiding by scanner and CCTV etc .

As for now i don't see it happenings as old woodlands area will still be a white elephant unless G reveal the plan, I see it as public can advise or feedbacks to give tips, would be a consideration.

Wow, so many against the project. 

I would love to see this being built. We are first world in terms of airport and seaport but the land crossings we have now is really third world.
