BBC News - TikTok's UK headquarters in doubt amid US pressure
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53462918

I'm no lover of the ccp. But this is really incredible hypocrisy.

This is coming from the two governments who collect massive amounts of data on their own citizens as revealed by Edward Snowden. Reportedly to find terrorists. They would love to tap the entire world except that Apple the main handphone used by most Americans refuse to comply with many of their information requests.

And Canada, USA, England are tapping all communication cables on both sides of the Atlantic....

And the silly thing is that you can choose not to use wechat, tiktok or huawei phones...

Something many may not understand.

A huge percentage of singaporeans directly or indirectly work for or with American/ western firms.

Singapore is rolling out its 5g network. What equipment is gonna be used?

If America.. and possibly other western nations.. decide that sensitive information cannot be sent on Huawei infra.. what then?

They may not be able/willing to tell Singapore etc what equipment to use.. but they sure as hell can even legislate their companies to avoid business with "high risk" areas.

A lot of crazy people in White House right now. Don’t expect them to make logical decision.

It's not a trump white house thingy... even if Biden wins the next election,  it won't change.

Don't forget the stupid prc played idiot game with even Obama's airforce one when he last visited.

Britain,  Australia,  India has basically said enough is enough. Canada is just keeping quiet slow burning. The EU is not far behind.

Japan korea and several asean nations are just secretly cheering for American carriers in the SCS.
