There are some hits and misses even with this thread. Laosan Kuey Chap is really good and I have never heard of it even living in AMK for so long...

Yishun Park HC stuff is average though.

At least the opportunity costs of hawker food is low as compared to restaurants. 

I think google maps reviews are quite ok, in general.
If u see something that has not bad reviews, but get a lot of 1-2 star vs 5 star reviews, then u know it's hit or miss  

Depends on the personality of the poster also. Some people just have great enthusiasm for stuff that agrees with their tastebuds. My BIL is one of them.

As usual , fabulous grilled crabs n the one and only pan-fried foie gras with blue berry and balsamic vinegar.. The stir fried prawns(Har Lok) with special hoi sin sauce really👍

Overall , value for money atas food minus the extravagant settings..

Good recommendation !! Tried it last night after seeing your post , bbq crabs are really very very good ... too bad they over cook the foie gras , had the lamb rack , black pork , grill sotong and grill Chili fish and all are pretty nice . Price is very reasonable also ...
 

The Hokkien noodles at the same coffeeshop is not too bad also .‘

🐔 normal to me (quite a lot for 2 ppl), nice fried garlic garnish on chicken, nice rice, refillable achar, nice soup (i got e cabbage soup, forgot to request for e lotus&peanut soup)

Yup. No doubt. Their chilli is power. I dropped the packet on the floor. Lucky the aunty pack more for me. She always offer to top up chilli when I reject the utensils and dark soy sauce.
