Liverpool

Ajax

Atalanta

Midtjylland

Hope there'll be no surprise and can emerge unscathed, and early too, so no need to always stress till the last game to qualify...

Not too bad. Look at barca/juv and man u /psg ...haha

Arteta is really good. Organise the team well and he will only need two or 3 windows to compete properly. Can say arteta is going to be up there with the  peps and kloops level.

Saka is a good talent as well。one to look out for.

Turbocharged

A good draw in CL group D. Non of the traditional heavy weights and relatively short travel distance.

Though Atalanta could spring a surprise.

Exit league cup on PENS with a much changed side, a competition that Klopp do not normally do well in.

Thought it is a shame as a decent run would allow the fringe and youth players to have competitive game time.

Looks like we are looking at potentially 3-4 exits soon.

Penalty. Bros not any shame as we know it can go either way.

Asernal next round against city. Our boy won't stand any chance. City field a strong team the other night.

I doubt our young boys will get that many games in this ca bo ca la cup! LOL

There is still the FA cup to come.

Italian top 4 sides a level below English top 4 with the exceptional of Juventus (50 - 50) . :slow:

English teams always prevail over Italian in UCL. Can say English clubs have about 85% winning chances over Italian clubs...    :secret-laugh:

Top manager like Klopp doesn't really care much about League Cup or FA Cup....  :we-all-gonna-die:

Their top agenda are Premier League and UCL Champion.

FA Cup is good to have like icing on a cake but not must have. :wut:

Plain cake without icing also taste good like Kuay Lapis or Marble cake ...

With the COVID suitation, in-house Cups doesn't make much money as no fans and TV coverage $$$$ limited only in England itself.

UCL will get more money as coverage over the whole of Europe and with the TV $$$$$ very tempting... :a-happy:

Klopp should be relatively happy with the UCL draw. The most risky teams in Pot 2 (Barca, Altetico, BVB) were avoided and we got Ajax.  Quite kind to Pool to be honest. Ajax is not the same team that went into the semi-finals a couple of seasons ago as they sold most of their key players.

The real threat to the group should be Altanta. They are a very attacking side so not the type of defensive Italian sides which Pool find it hard to break down e.g. Napoli etc.

Expect Pool to win all their homes games and if they nick one win away, they should emerge as the group leader.

Pool reserves did pretty well against Arsenal's reserves.  They had the better chances and should have scored if not for the brilliance of Leno.  Jota, Taki all had very good chances but fail to get the better of Leno. Leno also saved 2 penalties and he single-handedly brought Arsenal to the next round.

The surprise for me is that Klopp played some 1st team players like VVD, Salah and then brought on Gomez, Gini in the game.  I supposed these are fitness programme to assist their sharpness for the next game.

Shariqi should be gone... the deal was that Klopp will keep either Shariqi or Wilson.  Hence if Shariqi goes, I reckon Wilson will stay. Hence the back strike force for Pool will be Jota, Origi, Taki and Wilson.

Did not watch the game. I guess it's a pleasant surprise to have a Jones - Grujic - Wilson trio matching Xhaka - Ceballos - Saka in midfield. Good advert for Grujic and Wilson!

Let's aim high and go for a Treble: UCL - League - FA Cup.

wah... for 2 consecutive seasons, we were troubled by Napoli. Let's hope Atalanta is easier to negotiate...

Yup, think Shaqiri will go. In post-match interview, klopp hinted so already. think it's just a matter of time before it's announced.

Penalty is really heng suay... Adrian could have save the last kick, but it slipped in slowly under his body after he guessed the correct direction...

well, one less distraction in what is a shorted season. So this might be a blessing in disguise. Let's hope we retain the league, and then aim for UCL too. Looks like Bayern is still the favourite, with the rest not as obviously strong. Should have a decent chance if the team plays well.

You are right, this season is shorten and very compact.

Even Mighty BM lost to Hoffenheim in the league two days after the UEFA super cup.

Realistically, we cannot spread out to attack on all front. Even if we use team B in the not so important cup runs, the backroom supporting members are still the same, and i am sure we rather utilise their resources and time to analyse the next league or CL opponents.

Not trying to sound bitter after losing to the gunners (well deserved). For the defense department, we are just one or two injuries away that can derail the whole season.

Heck, I guess Klopp prefers to keep the midweek free for rest or more training session than domestic cup games. Same goes for the kitman, security uncle, drink aunty and the AV guy playing all the artificial crowd noise tracks

Barca or juv one of them might face us next stage of we were to go through.

Same go for that BM/AM group.
