Even Mighty BM lost to Hoffenheim in the league two days after the UEFA super cup. Realistically, we cannot spread out to attack on all front. Even if we use team B in the not so important cup runs, the backroom supporting members are still the same, and i am sure we rather utilise their resources and time to analyse the next league or CL opponents. Not trying to sound bitter after losing to the gunners (well deserved). For the defense department, we are just one or two injuries away that can derail the whole season. Heck, I guess Klopp prefers to keep the midweek free for rest or more training session than domestic cup games. Same goes for the kitman, security uncle, drink aunty and the AV guy playing all the artificial crowd noise tracks Last season kloop don't even bothered to turn up! Remember ? Some sort of mid season training/getaway. .. Hahaha ↡ Advertisement

Raymondism Twincharged October 2, 2020 Share October 2, 2020 Well if Klopp say he has enough players then he is probably right. Hope to see more deliberate rotation to bring in youngsters.

Akula Turbocharged October 2, 2020 Share October 2, 2020 Got this off the web : Sheffield United have completed the signing of striker Rhian Brewster from Liverpool in a club-record £23.5 million ($30m) deal. The 20-year-old spent five seasons with the Reds, where he progressed through the club's academy to become a member of the senior squad. Brewster, though, made just four appearances for Liverpool and has now departed in a bid to earn more minutes at the Premier League level. Sources have told Goal that Liverpool will receive an initial fee of around £18m ($23m) with the rest due in performance-related add-ons. The Reds have also secured a 15 per cent sell-on clause as well as a buy-back option that will be in operation for the next three years.

No wonder Firminho not scoring goals.. no wonder league cup game ended up 0-0... no one dare to scoe in open play... team mates will come hug you if you score... Mane been scoring past 2 matches... luckily Jota not involved in those hugs with Mane... Wish both Thiago and Mane speedy recoveries. Raymondism Twincharged October 3, 2020 Share October 3, 2020 Actually i find Grujic not bad... imagine the likely scenario next summer: Wijnaldum is likely to leave but already replaced by Thiago who will be 30. Milner will be 35 in January and maybe will move on to something else in near future e.g. coaching. Hendo is 31 next June and getting more injury prone. Both Fabinho and MC King Ox will be turning 28. Grujic is 1 yr younger than Keita and can play as deep midfielder or box to box. If Klopp keep either Wilson or Grujic, we will still have 4 midfielders in their best years. He was bought for 5M and been on the road for past few years. Its almost like signing an alternative midfielder for 5M this year. Maybe he is more sellable than Wilson and on higher wages. Wilson cost almost nothing though. Maybe he wants more playing time. With current covid situation, aging midfield plus packed schedule, it wouldnt be hard for him to clock 20 or 30 appearances. Even Ox managed 30 appearances last season. Imagine VVD, Matip, Fabinho and Grujic going into the box for set pieces. Anyway Klopp and Edwards would know better.

He already has the height and defensive acumen. Edited October 3, 2020 by Cauldron

He already has the height and defensive acumen. Was thinking of that too. Maybe that will be the key consideration for next defensive mid or CB. Must have qualities like Fabinho, VVD or Agger. Players like them can organise the defence well. First thought of Hendo but he did say that he doesn't like playing as CB. Maybe that will push Hendo closer to exit doors in a year or two. Milner contemplated leaving when Klopp asked him to cover full backs. Fabinho is already an excellent choice to convert to CB in a couple of years time. Yet, he is as important as Hendo in protecting the defence. Grujic seemed to be good enough to play in midfield but not sure how long it will take to convert him to CB. Great if he is open to that plus he can play as no. 6 or as one of the double pivot. Maybe Klopp thinks he is a spy planted by Buvac haha Edited October 3, 2020 by Raymondism ↡ Advertisement 1
