I think the trend is to deploy or convert wingers into full backs or wing backs.. cant remember when it started.. i only remember experimenting with Sterling / Markovic as wingbacks then TAA converted from CM to RB... a few young wingers were gone after featuring at full backs.. maybe they should convert Ox to a right wing back soon

wah... yes it rings a bell, but i also dunno if this will work. Germany's problem with Hungary culminated in Leroy Sane trying - unsuccessfully - to stop the hungarian striker from scoring... Leroy Sane, who is prob more accustomed to being the attacker in that area of the pitch, acting at the last defender... 😅

not sure if the chosen ones will take well to the idea or not lor...

Ox has the speed, but he's also so injury prone, i don't feel safe to play him as defender, who will likely have to put in some tackles now and then. later become dependent on him, then suddenly kaput... 🤣

Ox is not a defender so it will be too risky to play him as a full back. At most a wing back.

The other candidates for RB are Hendro and Fabinho... just that if you play these players there, who is going to play at CMs? it is not as if Pool has a lot midfielders to go around now that the mainstay Gini is gone.

Its easier to shift a wide midfielder ( or at least those who can play wide) into left right back role compared to replacing the two CBs. Usually one of the CBs will control the defensive line and in our case, VVD.

Honestly, i dont see the big difference in being left or right back. Its not as if you are forbidden to use right foot as a left back. Our Greek full back should be able to rotate for both left and right back. After all he is a full back by trade.

Whats missing when TAA not playing is: the crosses from the right goes missing and opponent can focus on pinning back Robbo and we will require VVD long ball and some magic from front three. Maybe Klopp saw this and decided to add Thiago in midfield to overcome this shortcoming and provide more options.

I don't think finance is an issue for him. Newcastle, china....

I reckon more to do with his love for football managing. Also couple that  his family are in liverpool as well. Everton surely seem a very tempting job opening for rafa.

His daughter grew up there. Hard to say sometimes it might be the charm of the neighbourhood, relations, people....alot of factors why one might like a particular city.

Looking forwards to it

:D

Klopp ready to utilise his squad as LFC gear up for 7 games in 21 days

It will “absolutely” require the depth of Liverpool‘s squad, but this is what Klopp’s team have prepared themselves for.

“We are Liverpool and that means everybody expects us to win each game,” Klopp told reporters.

Was Salah loved at Chelsea? No

Was Salah loved at Roma? No

Was Salah loved at Basel? No

He is loved only at Liverpool.

:D

Former Liverpool forward and legend Ian Rush believes supporters could be a 'deciding factor' if Salah decides to extend his stay at Anfield.

"Everyone wants Salah to stay and I think there is a good chance he will because if he goes anywhere else, he won't get the support he gets now," Rush told the Mail on Sunday.

"Other supporters might like him, but Liverpool fans love him and that could be a deciding factor."

Micah Richards has shared that Mo Salah had been interested in playing for Liverpool as far back as his time on loan with Fiorentina in 2015.

The then Chelsea star had struggled to find his place in Jose Mourinho’s squad, with the likes of Andre Schurrle then favoured over the Egyptian international.

“I had the pleasure of playing with Mo for six months in Florence in 2015 and he used to tell me on the afternoons we would go out for coffee of his ambition to be a star for Liverpool. They were the team he always watched,” the former Manchester City star wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“When he joined Fiorentina on loan from Chelsea, he was frustrated with himself.

“Things hadn’t worked out at Stamford Bridge but it was always in his mind that he would go back to England to show everyone what he could do.”

A return to the Premier League was scoffed at by neutrals, with many football fans clearly not expecting the kind of remarkable homecoming season the No.11 delivered under Jurgen Klopp.
