Well, that is the thing, what exactly is the standard of evidence required? Its not clear in our rules.

This is where the flexibility comes in for the makers.

nowadays alot of support from the ministers, govt and they will post it publicly cause alot of such high ego morons around

Support should include urging police to take stern actions against those who create trouble, not just praise praise to peace the worker alone.😀😀

The MOH guide in fact is rather broad, before that they also never mentioned face shield in their FAQs and SOP, after few incidents of people wearing that then they amend the thing. Think they do not want to specify the types to use as there are so many in the market so just put a general guide on protection against infections or air pollution.

It is easier to define the physical shape , like there has to be ear loops at both side, a small steel clip to allow tight hold of a mask against the nose, but what is difficult is to define the material used, especially the specification of the filter,  first is there  are too many variance, second is the is no way for the men on the street like bus drivers to validate the quality specification.

But at least define covid 19 masks as being  having ear loops, nose clip so as to weed out attention seekers like  that 你妈 的 xx.

BBC News - Covid: Woman in Australia jailed for six months over quarantine breach
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-53903498

If here govt really serious, should set minimum jail time. Australia judge awarded 6 month jail for breaking quarantine, out of max 1 year. Now that's deterrent.  We then won't get too many of these jokers testing our patience.

Wearing some types of masks may be worse than not wearing one at all: Study

However, the results of the study also found that one of the 15 types tested proved to be worse than not wearing a mask at all.

This was a single layer neck gaiter made of 92 per cent polyester and 8 per cent spandex.

Explaining this apparent anomaly, the researchers said the neck gaiter "seemed to disperse the largest droplets into a multitude of smaller droplets which explains the apparent increase in droplet count relative to no mask in that case".

"Considering that smaller particles are airborne longer than large droplets (larger droplets sink faster), the use of such a mask might be counterproductive."

The authors added that of the masks they tested, "some mask types approach the performance of standard surgical masks, while some mask alternatives, such as neck fleece (gaiters) or bandanas, offer very little protection".

Associate Professor Eric Westman, one of the researchers involved, in a webinar on the results said that the findings also showed "people do spit out particles when they speak", and not just when they cough, sneeze or shout.

Another mask that is better not worn in public spaces, and in fact has been banned in some places, are those with valves or vents.

Such masks, which make breathing easier, do protect the wearer. But they allow air, including any droplets in them, to freely flow out - and so, do not stop the transmission of the virus from an infected person.

MOH has taken a position finally, whether bandanas is effective or ineffective is beside the point,  attention seekers  has one less way to get themselves famous and create inconvenience to others. Of course they will continue to attract attentions through other means.
