Hi,

Anybody using Sinopec xpower? I tried last week and after travelling 400km on my 12years old honda, I encountered my engine oil turning green.

My friend who drive a new Toyota also has the same issue.

Anybody face the same problem?

The both of you have a large amount of coolant leaking into your engine oil.

Check what colour is in the coolant reservoir. If it's brown or black you have a leak.

Greed colored Engine Oil, I known was from Bell-Ray (Racing Oil) for Bikes. I used on my Bikes years ago, high rev. NP 1.

So was the Engine Oil previous owner filled . Or you purchased the Bell-Ray.

this oil is also a light translucent green when new. Reminds me of dishwashing liquid. Turns brown/black quickly though

if you mentioned coolant "large amount" leak into engine oil, means coolant side having high pressure than engine oil side.

then not look at coolant colour, instead check whether large drop of coolant level.

Instead of asking in forums, you should go to your mechanic/workshop...

Maybe the mechanic also don't know.

Then need more upgrading or get a more knowledgeable person in the workshop.

Quite possible.

Once I went JB to flush out my coolant and put new one in.

They flush out my radiator and then put in my new pink coolant.

I open the bonnet and saw the old green coolant still in the reserve container.

The only thing they could do is suck out the old green coolant and add new coolant.

Most mechanics never studies car engines.

They learn on the job by seeing the old birds do what.

The old birds also never went to technical school and

also learn from seeing other people do what.

And cooling system is the least understood of all car systems.

Coolant is not only in the radiator and reserve tank,

its actually in the engine block lining.

You can Google. If the engine head gasket is compromised the engine oil and coolant will leak both ways with the engine oil filling up the coolant reservoir.

This is common for cars over 10yo. The engine head gasket needs replacement.

I still warm up no matter what. just to make sure the lubricant is flowing in every part of my engine first. 🤣
