Nope. The Woodlands hospital is not ready yet. The staffs are currently employed in various parts of SG. I heard some in KTPH and AH.

Congratulations. Wow I didn't know PCP is so competitive. Like you said, 80 slots only and 1,000 over applicants? I know some technical or engineering PCP schemes that are quite lacklustre to the point that trainees quit halfway etc. Means the working environment, salary, prospects, not attractive enough.

This is fantastic. Based on my recent polyclinic visits I can imagine at your new workplace no one will be swatting flies.

Come to think of it I don't think I've even walked past an empty private clinic since maybe 5 years ago.

Only minus point is your field probably no WFH.  :D

Congrats to Bro Adrianli on the successful completion of the demanding programme...👍👏

Lust time I also thot of taking up that course so that I could be a sexcialist in memegram...i mean specialist in mammogram...then the lazy (large) part of me made me went for something much easier...still no easy feat tho, given the half work, half play, no study for 3 full years to "bluff eat" a piece of worthless paper...learned a lot along the way tho...😁

At $1.2k, the janitors earn more under progressive wage model.

just slightly lower than a UK junior Dr.

No wonder they're striking this week.

No one force them to be doctor mah... A lot of Asians go into this field as their family and Asian value system view this line as prestigious and lucrative, but in western countries it is just another profession.

Like Asians tend to see pilot job as very up , but in western countries it is just a transport worker profession.

In western countries, the trades and blue collar skilled jobs pay more and unionized / protected. But Asians see these jobs no up.

This is shocking.  How to survive in London for most people.

In Singapore, you think getting into medicine is sure thing? So there is no question of force but pressure from within yourself and family. If really it isn't what you truly want, do give others a chance. 😆

I think it’s worst over there and in USA. The medical school fees are a killer too.

In USA, med tuition fee are high but the starting pay is much much better. I am surprised NHS is still functioning today by paying first year doctor so little, maybe cause the tuition fee is subsidised but net £1.6k is kinda of hard to survive in high cost London.
