Triggers my memory of the whiplash i had experience. *Pain*

Short term acute pain no issue, it's the long term lifelong chronic pain.

That is disabling.

I suggest TS bring wife to see a good spine doctor at least for the first appointment.

Really hope she can recover soon, the pain really no joke.

@Infernolord first of all, wish your wife a speedy recovery. And do keep a look out of yourself, as high chance you might suffer some form of whiplash injury, which effect might not surface in the 1st 2 days. (I experienced that when involved in a chain collision few years back). And without further ado, go and make a police report (if you have not done so), and arrange your wife and yourself for a thorough check up by specialists.

OK on the topic of motor insurance claim, for car <10 year old (in Singapore), motor insurance normally cover own damage & 3rd party (damage and injury of the other parties involved). I suspect VW & MSIG is going to claim your own insurance first, so as to go ahead with the repair, then you claim it from the other party (i.e. the Mercedes) through MSIG's lawyer (you have to instruct them to do it) or you can engage your own lawyer for the job.

In usual case, your insurer will not proceed with injury claim (unless in the unfortunate event of death or permanent injury). You will have to claim that it from the other party, and you will need to engage a lawyer to do that (it will be too tiring to do it yourself). Don't worry about the legal fee as it can be claimed together with the injury claims (medical check up, specialists cost, MCs / loss of income, as well as forecasted cost of medical follow up). If MSIG has not submitted claim for lost of use (to the Mercedes owner), you can get the same lawyer to claim it together.

OK, I shall stop here first before I overload you with too much info. Do update us the status and we will provide our advice accordingly. There are just too many things to look out for, especially the settlement sum, but let leave it to the later part. Take care and rest well first. All these claims are the last thing you should worry about now.

This is what stated on MOM website. It will be good if you can run through the signed employment contract between your brother and his employer. You can also contact MOM @1800 2219922 (workright) or @64385122 (hotline) to find out more details and request for further assistance to deal with his employer, if necessary.

Sick and hospitalisation leave

  • You are entitled to paid sick leave and hospitalisation leave if you are covered by the Employment Act and have completed 3 months of service.
  • You cannot encash your leave entitlement.

Medical reimbursement

  • Your employer must pay for your medical consultation fee if you meet all the following requirements:
  • You are covered by the Employment Act.
  • You have completed at least 3 months of service.
  • You were granted at least one day of paid sick leave.
  • Your medical certificate (MC) was given by a medical practitioner from an approved public medical institution or appointed by your company.

Medical benefits schemes

  • Today, employers generally provide their employees with medical benefits beyond what the Employment Act stipulates.
  • You should check your employment contract for details on the medical benefits provided by your company.

Fully recovered?

Till date, no symptoms anymore. Doctor had did a CT Scan and found no internal bleeding.

The accident happen a year plus ago.

Was on the main road and the grab uncle just turn out from the small road without checking. Furthermore was on the outer road of the main road.

Unable to avoid at all. The grab was with a passenger as well. The passenger was shocked too. A guy working near the vicinity. He saw my vehicle but still did not understand why the grab uncle did not see me approaching on the main road and proceed to turn out from the small road.

He was charged with dangerous driving.

The accident happen near my previous workplace at ubi Avenue 3 and was just walking distance from traffic police.

Remembered was on stronger painkillers and the pain was unbearable when inhaling and exhaling for the 2-3 weeks.

Thanks. I think they had a cap on the claims are able to make. The workshop boss daughter at that point of time mention that there is a cap for all types of injury.

Medical claims confirm able to claim if 100% right.

Loss of use of vehicle also able to claim. Either rental or compensate the number of days of no vehicle.

The lawyer will do all the necessary work. But once accepted the claim. The case is close.

So I'm assuming your injury was more than just neck.

It probably also injure your thoracic spine.
