Ender Hypersonic May 12, 2021 Share May 12, 2021 This one wins the Singaporean who had 5 doses in one go. https://www.livescience.com/woman-covid-19-vaccine-six-doses.html Quote Woman gets 6 doses of COVID-19 vaccine at once By Rachael Rettner - Senior Writer about 19 hours ago The woman was mistakenly injected with an entire vial of the vaccine. A woman in Italy accidentally received six doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine all at once, according to news reports. The 23-year-old woman did not experience any serious side effects from the vaccine overdose, CBS News reported. The accident happened Sunday (May 9) at the Noa Hospital in Tuscany, Italy, according to CBS News. The nurse administering the vaccine mistakenly injected the woman with an entire vial of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which contains six doses. Related: Quick guide: COVID-19 vaccines in use and how they work The error happened because the nurse thought that the vial she was injecting had already undergone a necessary dilution step — before the vaccine can be administered, each of the six doses is taken out of the original vial and put into a new vial, where the dose is diluted, CBS News reported. "She thought that the dilution had taken place," Dr. Tommaso Bellandi, director of patient security for the northwest Tuscany health authority, told CBS News. "They are both transparent liquids of the same density. Unfortunately, this contributed to the error." The nurse quickly realized her mistake, and the patient was monitored for 24 hours at the hospital. She was given fluids and fever-reducing medications as a preventive measure, according to CBS News. The only side effect the woman experienced was pain at the injection site, and she was released from the hospital Monday (May 10), officials said. The hospital has launched an investigation into the error. Kb27 Supersonic May 14, 2021 Share May 14, 2021 Quote Three weeks after he had been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, a science journalist in Delhi developed high fever, a sore throat and a general feeling of discomfort. On 22 April, Pallava Bagla tested positive for the coronavirus. Four days later, a chest scan showed his clear lungs turning white, a sign of infection. As the fever persisted, he was admitted to hospital - eight days after his first symptoms. At the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, doctors put Mr Bagla, 58, through blood tests and administered steroids. As he had an underlying condition - diabetes - his blood sugar soared. Luckily, his oxygen levels never fell perilously low. Before he left the hospital after eight days, doctors showed him a scan of the lungs of an unvaccinated, diabetic, male Covid-19 patient of his age, and compared it to his scan. "The difference was clear. The doctors told me that if I had not taken the vaccine I would have probably landed up on the ventilator in critical care. Timely and full vaccination saved my life," Mr Bagla says. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-57084572

Blueray Hypersonic May 16, 2021 Share May 16, 2021 MOH studying if second dose of Covid-19 vaccine can be given later, to give more people first dose: Ong Ye Kung Quote Experts overseas and in Singapore believe that the two doses of the vaccines can be spaced further apart - up to six to eight weeks instead of three to four weeks currently - without affecting their efficacy, he said at a press conference to announce home-based learning for Singapore schools from May 19. But those who already have an appointment for their second dose of the vaccine will not be affected. "This is a strategy for phase two of our vaccination exercise moving forward," Mr Ong added. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/moh-studying-if-second-dose-of-covid-19-vaccine-can-be-given-later-to-give-more-people
