Security cameras in Singapore homes have been hacked, with the footage stolen and shared online.

Clips from the hacked footage have been uploaded on pornographic sites recently, with several explicitly tagged as being from Singapore.

The videos, which can last from under a minute to more than 20 minutes, feature couples, breastfeeding mothers and even children.

Most of them are in various states of undress or compromising positions.

Many faces can be clearly seen in locations such as the living room and bedrooms. Some are seen using the toilet with the door ajar.

who would put cctv in their own bedroom unless

1) you have a fetish of watching your partner,

2) you have the fetish of watching your ownself,

3) you suspect your maid.

Don't have any cctv at home ...... luckily ! [laugh] Nothing so valuable and no maids.

But true enough, most people don't configure their cctv securely. More so if they DIY the job - everything is accepted as default - and these defaults for certain brands of equipment can be found online. Reputable installers would advise you on what to do to secure the camera feed.

Another case to note is the webcam of laptops, best to cover it up when not in use too.

My handphone has my finger print, all my passwords and all my bank account details.

If someone hack google then they can access all my bank accounts and

and zero all my bank deposits and steal all them money that I owe the banks.

I hope they do it and wipe out my debts.

When the bank sends the sms pin it will show as a notification and flash the pin on my screen.

Don't even need to unlock the phone to see it. That's very dangerous leh.

Perhaps you're not yet a parent or maybe that is too long ago? 😁

It's not about configuring the CCTV.

For most IP cameras out there, in order to access the footage in real time, the videos of these cameras are often uploaded into the manufacturer's own cloud for you to access it via mobile phone. This is where the risk lies.

Maybe you should blank off your computer camera and leave your phone face down when not in use. You won't know who is lurking around.

That's the reason why there are those stuck-on physical sliders sold for your laptop cameras.
