When ppl dont have a job and schools are closed what else could they focus on?

Before that ppl are doing well, can travel, can buy house, buy car...who will focus on what their govt is doing?

If secret agencies have such strong influence in the first place they wouldnt have wait until now to take action lo.

That's why US is not so keen on lockdowns. Even the idiotic president knows that. Once he does the lockdown ppl will have nothing to do and start to pick on his flaws and incompetence. It's important to keep things going even when the virus is still spreading. Keep ppl distracted.

Hearsay in Thailand already hundreds of young people have disappeared. You don't go and protest against the government because you have no school or job, maybe in the US but definitely not in Thailand.

Politics is sometimes about how to cut the pie, obviously some segments of society is taking too much and leaving too little for the rest. This is pretty obvious in Thailand. It is a powder keg that is taken advantage of.

Protest cannot really fight against 5.56mm and 9mm rounds.

People revolutions like Philippines case or middle east cases succeed only because some parts of the establishment such as armed forces decide to join the rebel cause.

Otherwise, is not a big deal for the junta to gun down a few thousand.

Whats happening in Thailand can be referenced in China's dynastic history.

Missteps by the previous Kings cause the problem to snowball and it takes more than two Kings to stop an avalanche.

Protests are only good to direct efforts but for regime change, its a rebellion.

Rebellion in Asean member states, especially one of high standing, is unacceptable to Asean.

The thais have to understand this.

Surgical management and its recovery is a better choice.

If they start asking the rural army boys to shoot the protestors, will they shoot their officers instead given the opposition is strong in rural areas and this is a fight between BKK elites and the poorer provinces?

One of my thai PMET friends is a royalist, he called the youngsters thugs. I can't understand why anyone wants to keep a King that does nothing but eat, sleep and f**k.  Maybe they really believe he is divine.

He should use some of his massive fortune to buy influence now, many Thai needs help. They are struggling. Thailand economy is very bad, according to another friend running an SME business there.

All the European kings and royalty wayang show and act like they care for the people but in reality, their lives are only also eat, sleep and have children on taxpaper expenses.

New Thai king don't even bother wayang like his old man. He just want to secure his money for his luxury living for next 20 years until he go heaven.

Honestly you take the money from the people you must do your job. Like Queen E has to meet British PM for regular chats and also help promote tourism.

Thai king just want to take without giving.... he will go the way of Louis the 16th.

Queen E was disconnected with the ppl until the death of Princess D.

That was the wake up call for British Royal Family.

Interesting read. The military to the rescue. Thai unrest is never going to end.

The Thai really fed up with the new king, the late King was well respected. This new king doesnt deserve the throne

The military and royalities refusing to share the wealth of the nation.

The article is quite spot on, the huge military/palace complex benefiting the king and the many generals won’t allow changes, so Thailand will have more coups in the future.

At least your favourite regime knows better. Lol
