thanks man. btw, are you also driving a crown? just wondering from your avatar... my dad owns a 2007 silver majesta, renewed the coe for another 10 years. close to 270k miles now, cos he drove up to msia quite often pre-covid.

every now and then, i get to drive him around in it. i must say it still drives very well.

Yeah, used to drive a 2007 Crown Royal, scrapped it when the COE was up 🙂

Perodua Kelisa. Best to renew COE.

PARF value almost non existence. Hence totally not losing any money if you regret later. Spare parts are 90s dinosaur simple parts which has OEM version everywhere

Many upcoming 2016 and later cars also qualify. Many hybrids are at 2.5k PARF.

thanks for the reply. the owner has kept records of all the servicing done, including the replacement of hybrid cells(dec 2020), parts... all done at the borneo outlet at lengkee. any idea if the 12V batt could be replaced with the normal batt? or is it some special batt speically for hybrids?

any other things to take note of? tia.

This engine seems well know to be an oil burner. Google Prius gen 3.

I don't know for sure. Does it matter? Does Toyota make their own battery packs?

Don't end up getting the uncertified made in china  batteries ,  the car can burn ferociously ike those PMDs.

Doesn't your friend know IS250 is a Toyota? albeit more "luxurious"

Go for the last generation of Vios or Altis that came with automatic (or better still, manual) transmissions.  Many are still running reliably into their 15th years, or more!

Avoid the later CVT versions.  Some specimens may be “iffy” after 10 years.

so reliable

Lexus has always been considered as very reliable. So, as long as your budget allows, go with it.

But just take note some parts might be more expensive compared to Toyota.
