Singapore Reckless Drivers Part IX

A lot of drivers only look out for cars and not bikes.

There is no excuse but the trees behind also camo the biker.

Its 100% not the bikers fault but he kenna pain.

If he wanted to avoid the pain, getting a yellow bike

and wear a high viz vest would help prevent this.

They have to be proactive for their own safety.

There again no need lah, less videos here only.

This is so funny and shocking. How could he not see the motorcyclist?

Target fixation.

Most drivers only focus on cars

and more specifically moving cars from both sides.

So if no moving cars on both sides or they are far away

then just make the turn lah.

I really dunno what the Malaysia Proton Exora is doing. The red light for going straight has been red for a long time. Was on my way to SKH to pick wife up after her work & I was actually behind this cam car. This accident happened at the junction of Anchorvale Drive and Sengkang East Road towards TPE.

Wish the biker will have a speedy recovery as I saw his back hit the tarmac quite hard and was lying on the floor.

Passer by crossing the road and the driver of the camera attended to him.

Useful especially with the wet season coming..

Quote

The rainy season is here again. What can we do to stay safe in the wet weather? Most of us are used to driving in the rain, thanks to our frequent showers throughout the year. However, we do still have seasons when it rains for days at a stretch, sometimes with visibility-impairing torrential downpours. That season is upon us now.

To stay safe, you must first ensure all your car's tyres are in good condition. If they look worn, they probably are. Change them.

Check that the tyre pressures are as recommended. Grip deteriorates when tyres are either under- or over-inflated.

Be warned, however, that even a vehicle with perfectly good tyres can aquaplane over a pool of standing water at certain speeds. When this happens, you lose braking and steering control.

Stay clear of puddles as far as possible, or slow down and brace yourself for a wiggle if you cannot avoid one. Often, drivers caught unawares panic and make the situation worse.

Take the middle lane, as puddles are unlikely to form there. Keep in mind a vehicle can lose control momentarily even if one side of it hits a puddle. Keep a longer distance from the vehicle in front.

One commonly forgotten element on a car are the wipers, which deteriorate quickly in our climate. Wipers are inexpensive, so change them regularly. Also remember to top up the windshield washer reservoir, preferably with glass-cleaning additives.

Finally, drive with the headlights on in heavy rain to improve visibility all round.

Cam car no defensive driving. This kind of situation road so big with no traffic, I will try and stay away from other cars. If need to overtake, do it fast.

PHV drivers 97% drive like idiots.

The videos we see here are just the tip of the iceberg.

Most accidents people never bother to post video here.

the reverse beepers would be beeping like crazy yet the vios driver didnt pay any attention

but surely he would have heard the bike fall over - its a big bike and it would have made quite a loud noise on falling.

notwithstanding that the bike was not parked in a lot, its still considered a hit and run - can report police ..

Aiyah should have bought a Lexus lah

the can claim didn't feel or hear anything.

PHV cannot keep in their own lane one and then hit and run.

But cam car also silly (unless he is also PHV or taxi driver then got free holiday and claim loss of earnings).

First overtake so close to cam car then he never buy a better horn.

I recommend a stebel trombe.
