During BMT when the inner liner rosak and have to run around with the stupid steel pot banging up and down on the head.... suffering siah.

And that time how to complain about such things, only will kena jialat jialat from the cobbler and sajens. Can imagine the scenario liao, Recruit X, helmet spoil hah? Pain hah? No problem, take off helmet hold above head and run for next 3 days.

Actually SBO account for a very small portion of load bear by the solider. The backpack, weapon (e.g. Mortar, Matador, GPMG, Saw, etc.), signal set (it can weigh close to 20Kg during my time) etc. are the killer, and the impact is not just on the back but the knee as well.

 

OK, based on my understanding, bulk of the load of the old SBO + content are levied on the shoulder directly, while the new 2 piece vest design spread the load more evenly on the shoulder and back, as well as the hip area.
