JTC is the project owner.  Should it be responsible for that?

JTC CE should step down honourably.

big mistake at this level signals a bigger problem at corporate level. It tells a story of a corporation that is too big to manage. The top management has no clue of what is going on at ground level. The ones that are close to ground are just killing time everyday  and collecting their pays at end of the month, no one takes responsibility. They are fully aware of the loopholes, but why brother? A lot of long serving senior staff spending 20% of their time work and 80% playing politics and ensure the junior staff don't perform too well and becoming a threat to them. It is a cancerous culture that is spreading in some long established big organizations.  If you look around at those long established organization,  most of the them are in this category. You shouldn't be surprised if there is a systematic wrong breast cancer diagnosis at our public hospital, working on the wrong site for half a year... more to surface in the future.

Not surprisingly that the top management in such organisation has no clue of what is going on at the ground level. I guess even the so called director level also has no clue. So if those manager and senior staff jiak liao bee, dont think anyone would check on their job lo.

Contractor will take the shit (literally) if they know what's good for them.. just "fire" the PM and some supervisors and the public will be appeased.. then rehire these same people under a subsidiary co and same pay, for taking the hit for the co and JTC... JTC head honchos got their pound of flesh, cotton chan seen to do effective govt oversight, the co will continue to get future lucrative contracts, and the fall guys still get their pay, and the public will be ignorantly and blisfully "happy" with the demanded results.. end of the day, all happy family once again...

Not JTC or contractor fault lah.

It's WP's fault for not asking probing question in parliament. It's always WP's fault. The buck stops at WP.

Ok I did it. Where is my $1?

Kranji woodland cleared by mistake: How it happened
Jan 13, 2021 (CNY Day 2)JTC's project manager discovers the further clearing and immediately suspends all work. About 13ha of vegetated land remains. JTC begins internal investigations.

Really? Project manager wasn't alerted to it by Brice Li and other nature lovers (https://www.vice.com/en/article/7k9a4x/how-did-singapore-clear-a-giant-forest-reserve-by-mistake)? Whitewashing start liao?

So are they hinting that by clearing the forest, they are protecting the general public from falling trees and we should be thankful for their kind gesture?! [gossip]
