Some companies are more proactive in encouraging employees to develop a healthy lifestyle. This benefits company to reduce overall MC, and improve moral & productivity. I remember a department in my company organizes group jogging session every Friday evening. That was before covid happened. People who want to join in can generally get out 30 min earlier than the rest to join the activity. And it's supported by HR so managers would not object to it.

Agree, early release is good, it is why before covid, a few of us would  always make it a point to leave office around 3pm  once a week to go for drink,...... provided we were in the office. 😅

I think LHL no less shd make a TV appearance to address this- tell the people sick cannot go work or will have consequences.  Just deliver that one message from the top of the house.  Then MOM go around tell all companies to make sure or will kenna fine jialat jialat.  CSC then do a towkay forum and accidentally on purpose leak something memorable  - like call the people  yao Siew kia.  Confirm then the message gets across.

It is a circular reference.

A lot of what happens is due to some individuals.

Employees need to build trust with Employers that MC is genuine

All these people who's aware that they're unwell but still go around spreading the love should all be charged in court. Really need to send a strong message to future offenders. Saying that "I'm just self medicating for mild symptoms" is bullshxt since they didn't even self-quarantine at home. Aren't these people committing a more serious offense than those convicted angmos who ignored social distancing?

We just need a few more fkers like these to bring on the next wave and throw us back to CB again.

Sometimes depends on individual. Cause some people think they are only a bit unwell, should not cause a big alarm, so still continue to go work go outside.

Such mentality is common during the non covid days. Where it is common to have some flu and cough and usually such illness need to take some time to fully recover. So continue normal routine like going to work is unavoidable. 🙄 No one would just stay at home and wait for the flu and cough to recover then they go back to work. Lol.

There are 3 linked and 1 unlinked community cases today. The 3 linked cases are from BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd. 2 of them developed symptoms such as sore throat, breathing difficulty and loss of smell and taste but did not see doctor and went to work as usual.

A new cluster has been formed - There are now 4 cases from BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd.

The unlinked case is a 46 year-old male Indian national who is a Work Pass holder, and works as a software engineer at APAR Technologies Pte Ltd (4 Shenton Way).

He had travelled to India between 9 March and 29 October 2020, and the UAE between 29 October and 13 November. He served SHN at a dedicated facility upon his return to Singapore until 27 November, and his swab done on 23 November during SHN was negative for COVID- 19.

He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he took a COVID-19 pre-departure test on 19 January in preparation for a trip back to India. His result came back positive for COVID-19 infection the next day and he was conveyed to NCID. His Ct value is very high, which is indicative of a low viral load, and his serology test result has come back positive. These indicate a likely past infection.

Well, hopefully now that whole BS workplace gets closed down for a while, and whoever contacted those sales personnel get quarantined - there will be no further leaks. I suspect though that in the next few days will continue to have comm cases as the close contacts of this and other clusters may also test positive.

The sole unlinked case is the curious one. Tested negative after SHN some time ago and remained healthy since, but only detected after another test done now. It does imply that low levels of the virus can be picked up from surroundings and then remain hidden or dormant for a long time.

Currently, our SHN leakage is not NO OF DAY.

It is the test protocol incomplete.

It should be both SWAB + BLOOD.

Blood test will supplement swab test in case of low viral count (which is what's happening to this isolated case).

I think they focus more on "infectiousness". Blood test is a higher resolution and can detect low viral count. But the conclusion probably is that this low viral count is not infectious thus no point to sweep up all these. Though we see here that it can cause inconvenience to the affected person somewhere down the road.

Maskless foreigners in Bali punished with push-ups

Quote

DENPASAR (Indonesia) • Foreigners caught not wearing face masks on the Indonesian resort island of Bali are being subjected to an unusual punishment: Push-ups.

Video footage circulating on social media this week shows foreigners in T-shirts and shorts being made to do the exercise in sweltering tropical heat as masked security officials stand over them.

Bali authorities made wearing a face mask in public mandatory last year as Indonesia battled a raging Covid-19 outbreak.

I guess this is very common among SME to discourage sicked employees (especially non-citizen) from seeking medical treatment.

Quote

Case 59456 is a 29 year-old female Malaysian national who is a Work Pass holder, and works at BS Industrial & Construction Supply Pte Ltd as a sales personnel. She is a co-worker of Case 59429.

She developed a sore throat and difficulty in breathing on 16 January but did not seek medical treatment and continued to go to work and interact in the community.

On 18 January, as she had been identified as a close contact of Case 59429, she was contacted by MOH. She was conveyed to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and tested for COVID-19 when she reported these symptoms. Her test result came back positive for COVID-19 the next day. Her serology test result has also come back negative, indicating that this is likely a current infection.

We strongly urge everyone to do their part to reduce the risk of transmission. Those who are unwell, including those showing early/mild symptoms, should be socially responsible and seek medical attention immediately and stay at home to prevent the spread of illness to others.

BOSS, READ THE PART IN RED.
