They will come with a beautiful cert declaring they have been tested 10 times and very negative.

That's not cheap.

That's 3,000 rupees.

Maybe they will get bulk discount.

:D

Indian government are not stupid.

They know about fake test certs and willingly let their people

go out of the country and spread and spread

because they think people going abroad with Covid is NOT their problem.

:D

The problem is people going abroad from India and spreading to other countries

comes back to India and continue to spread in India.

India needs to stop these fake certs.

But everyone is on the take so how to stop?

One thing SG did very well is the pre departure test.

We stop people of every nationality with Covid going abroad

and spreading to other countries.

Got those home test kit the best.

Swab needs to be done with proper technique.  Otherwise, it might be a false negative.

In addition, a swab is invasive enough that people need to stay still or get hurt.

A home test kit is not a good idea

A not so gentlemanly  gentleman may take umbrage to you taking umbrage over trivial matters as his experience in sinking a shipping company and tearing up a print publishing group outweighs yours. [laugh]

Shopping at JEM now. This fella walked up to me and stood shoulder to shoulder. I was already slightly more than 1m away from the next guy but he just chugged in between.

"HEY! Don't stand so close can or not?" I hissed at him.

He walked away.

That is why India is breaking global records with daily highs.

Now with the rural areas affected, they will surely hit 500k a day.

How to fight this virus?

Climbing up again... and 5 unlinked!

7 NEW CASES OF LOCALLY TRANSMITTED COVID-19 INFECTION

As of 8 May 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 7 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection, of whom 2 are linked to previous cases and had already been placed on quarantine. Based on our investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.

2.      In addition, there are 13 imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice or isolated upon arrival in Singapore. Amongst them, 9 are Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.

3.      In total, there are 20 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore today.

4.      We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight.

.... MCF wins.

Government actually restricted all work pass holders from EVERYWHERE except a few countries. Even pre approved work passes are not allowed to enter and have to be rescheduled... It applies to so many countries like Korea, Japan, USA, All of Europe. wow this is huge... and a bit insane.

Do we really have that many cases?

It’s just common sense.

MCF is not all that mighty frankly.

7 community cases among 20 new COVID-19 infections in Singapore

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-new-cases-imported-community-moh-may-8-14767528

Unlinked but hopefully most are asymptomatic "old infections". These are generally not spreaders though as a precaution, still isolated. Just like yesterday's 3 unlinked, 2 were actually in the "old infections" category.

What's scarier are those unlinked that show up at clinic with flu symptoms.

Anyway it does look like there is indeed a more infectious variant out there now and all we can do is to contain it through QO and tracing.

MCF reference is joking and I think it is a BIG mistake by the government.

I am all for closing borders to India and surroundings, plus higher risk countries in South east Asia. But places like Japan, Korea, USA, Europe needs to be kept open.... the work passes people coming from these places are very few but high value added. Low risk, big benefit.
