Depends on what road bike you buy, it might feel worse than foldie.

Spec is full carbon 8.5kg on sram rival 22 spd.

Dunno how will be the ride yet, once tried I update :D

I have 3 foldie and 1 road bike.

Can’t comment on both Tern and Dahon. Haven’t try it yet.

All my foldie are 16”. It is best compromise btw Compact and ride.

What you don’t ride about 16”?

The handling is not as good, I feel, and I need to pedal more to keep up with the rest.

I don't need it to be very compact as it will be kept in my car trunk most of the time, light weight is more important.

It seems everyone has a Brompton. Maybe i should reconsider but bo stock.

For Brompton, you are left with Carousell.

My friend bought and sold her 1st Brompton. She bought 2nd Brompton after that.

For 16 inch wheel, gearing is very important.

If you are getting Brompton, make sure it is 44 tooth chain ring.

Otherwise, need strong quad to cycle

I rotate my bikes. When I joining my riding group (mix pcn), I prefer the crius as it can keep up the pace. For leisure riding I prefer brompton as its smoother.

The new road bike is to try out, itchy hand :D

My wife's crius with sora parts can definitely go fast, almost as fast as a roadie. When i tried out on Changi Coastal, can easily hit 3xkm/hr effortlessly, easier than my heavy mountain bike. But with smaller 22" rim, not as directional or stable vs mountain bike. And with skinny tyres, can go fast but must pay close attention to keep clear of debris on the road.

I deliberated for awhile to get another foldie but shelve the idea for now. Firstly my cycling trips start from home so no need the folding functionality at all. If i have to transport my bike to somewhere before i start cycling, then how well it can fold become important.

Then i also thought of getting a roadie, going back to my first love. I would be able to trash most of the riders along the coastal road which is a motivation haha. But then i remind myself my objective nowadays is to exercise. Thus the heavier it is, the better it is. And my current mountain bike certainly fit the bill haha so i will be keeping it for the time being.

Anyone do your own cleaning and re-lube of drivetrain? How do you clean your greasy rags and brushes afterward?

You need:

1. Finished Line Degreaser; &

2. Squirt Chain Lube.

The steps are:

1 Wet rag with dishwasher (1 small dot) and spread dishwasher over entire rag;

2. Clean the entire chain until you see its original colour;

3. Take a clean rag to remove the soap.

4. Wait 30mins.

5. Spray Degreaser on both rags and soak them for 30mins.

6. Shift Front chainring and rear sprocket to the biggest size

6. Lube each chainlink 1 by 1

7. Leave the chain overnight.

8. Use hot water and dishwasher to remove degreaser from both rag

For the used market, most bikes from MV is 44 tooth chainring.

I think Standard is 53 tooth

how often do u do this?

sometimes when my shifting gets rough and a bit delayed, I think it's time to clean off the old lube n accumulated dirt/dust. After clean + lube, it shifts like new again - Very crisp shifts. I found this happens quickly when I ride on dry gravel tracks due to the gravel dust. Not too bad on normal road/PCN. So I decided to stay off gravel LOL

Rags buang. Brushes can use kerosene to soak and then detergent if really want to get rid of the smell.

Kerosene can use to remove old grease too.

If clean after every ride, no need use kerosene.

This is a 666km chain

I clean it with a wet cloth (no degreaser/no dishwasher) after every ride.

Check cable tension for the shifter.  I change all cable once a year.
