I have yet to be convinced that building this HSR is a good deal for Singaporeans.

So yes, they did give us a good deal by terminating it.

HSR is a double edge sword to Singaporean. At one edge, it may benefits Singapore businesses, economy and employment for Singaporeans if done right. At the other edge, if done wrong, employment for Singaporeans will be worsen since the time taken to travel to Singapore from areas serve by HSR will be shorten, Singapore businesses and economy may take a hit with companies and businesses relocating to cheaper alternatives in Malaysia, Thailand and China since traveling cost is reduce.

The future I think will be more like actually no need to travel overseas unnecessary to discuss projects or business. Just need to go on zoom meeting. It maybe sometimes just travel to meet up and built rapport or it is the super important project and want to show sincerely. So flying is enough, as later the hsr demand is not there? Then will be lose money project.

MRT from woodlands to johor is different case, as that open up the blue collar worker to travel from Singapore to jb and vice versa to work. It save a lot of commute time and reduce jam in the causeway.

If can access HSR from RTS then we would have saved alot money from building HSR in sg and use the plot of land for better use

They still have their car and airline industry to rescue. HSR within their own country is unlikely to work for them. Who will want to buy car?

During pre covid times there are many flights between SG-KL KL-SG. They would want to recover that to help their ailing airline. HSR would just kill it.

they are busy fighting covid

where got time to think about HSR

they forgot about it, its a honest mistake

just move on lah.

to be honest ... the priority also not right ...

covid (worsening) ... at least another 1.5 yr to stabilize

politic in-fighting (Bersatu internally also fighting)

politic out-fighting (umno is making move to regain the throne liao ... election coming sooner or later)

economy in deep shit ... budget deficit widening

most importantly ... where got $$$ ... must give a call to 大哥 liao

and lastly ... umno will only support the project if they are in the captain seat with umno MOF minister like jibby [laugh]

Turbocharged

Hsr will still go ahead but stop at jb.

I can understand MY rationale. Stop at Sg will mean tourists and visitors can bypass whole of southern MY. Why would they even alight? Making it terminate at JB will make it a hub. Everyone alight to transfer to RTS line to Sg or disperse and take in JB and the surroundings
