Yes ETS use conventional 1m width track, but its not so much the width, rather the turning radius. Hsr track should not have sharp curves. The current tracks still have a few curves, but if that can't be straightened, there are suspension-based solutions for such trains.

then it makes sense Woodlands > RTS > ETS > up north

actually without HSR is not so bad ... developer dont have to bid aggressively for land

then properties dont have to be priced top high that is out of reach for many

really WTF kind of comment ... i wonder if HSR continue will they bid for land and sell cheap! muahahaha

I think its an excuse to save face. Malaysia bo money lao, so most likely soon after will give all sort of reason and then terminate local hsr project too.

In the end, what’s to stop Malaysia from saying “Lim peh, got no money to pay you back, small red dot what you want?”
go to international court and claim?

There will always be alot of experts around, just find one who think otherwise, not difficult, depending on what kind of report you want to capture as highlights.

I am more for building a duplicate East West MRT line through Jurong East. The EW line seems still the most heavily used no matter how many other lines they built.
