  • Fishes started dying at the South Cove canal of Sentosa Cove
  • Residents started noticing a foul smell just as the fishes died
  • The smell returned when the waters started turning a strange pink hue
  • The National Environment Agency and Sentosa Cove Resort Management are still investigating the matter

It's weird. Why do this kinda phenomenon happen?

Is it because of too much rain water (fresh water) that stays above the seawater that causes the bacteria growth? The bacteria that thrives in freshwater conditions that prevented the oxygen from entering the seawater? The fishes died because of the lack of oxygen? That's possible cos it kinda happens when there are continuous downpour for many days. With the tide going in and out the seawater should dilute the freshwater but with the constant downpour it could be possible there's more freshwater than seawater in the surface of the sea for Sentosa area? Aiya, who knows?
