Israel went from an initial efficacy of 66% to 39%.

Our MOH put it at 69%. Not sure if they want to update it or they like that two digits.

Point is, the efficacy is subject to change as more people get infected.

Judging that our vaccinated population is only slightly less 50% and yet we have 75% vaccinated infected, do suggest our numbers to be a lot lower than Israel's 39%. I think they dare not calculate a number for ourselve.

The number needs to be further breakdown by variants.

Based on data released (by MoH) on 7th Jul, it is 69% efficacy against Delta.

What I meant is MoH data.

That's why it is important to go back to science to check the efficacy.

It Is dangerous for us to interpret the data.

Want to break down that would be for analysis and scientist. For reporting on damages like impact and overall efficacy will do.

Please don’t forget for Asians, initially the efficacy is only 74% and not even 94%.

The efficacy for delta could be much much lower.

Pfizer says US government buying 200 million more doses of COVID-19 vaccine

NEW YORK: Pfizer and German partner BioNTech said on Friday (Jul 23) the US government had purchased 200 million additional doses of their COVID-19 vaccine and had the option to buy an updated version of the vaccine targeting new variants of the virus.

Pfizer earlier this month said the companies plan to seek authorization from US and European regulators for a booster dose of their COVID-19 vaccine.

The companies have designed a new version of the vaccine targeting the Delta variant, which they plan to test in the coming weeks, but have said the current vaccine could also provide protection against the variant.

Taking vaccine now is more about reducing serious illness. Social distancing is still a major factor in reducing transmission.

Haiz looks like govt estimate of 5 years is likely true.

Reducing serious illness - meaning just Mild or asymptomatic? If this is the case would probably be like normal flu. But so far not enough data yet to prove this right?

Also how long the protection from vaccine will last plus newer variants risk.

Here's some indication of the weakening of vaccine protection over time.. The gahment should consider recvaccinate the HCW and frontline workers who were among the first to get vaccinated and are still in their high risk jobs.

The Israeli statistics also appeared to paint a picture of protection that gets weaker as months pass after vaccination, due to fading immunity. People vaccinated in January were said to have just 16 per cent protection against infection now, while in those vaccinated in April, effectiveness was at 75 per cent, according to a report in the Times of Israel.

Doctors note that such figures may not only reflect time that has passed since vaccination, but also a bias according to which those who vaccinated early were often people with health conditions and who are more prone to infection, such as the elderly, the report said.

The CDC is actually saying there is no evidence a booster is required, and least yet, and that pharma is pushing them only for the sales.

Of course, CDC has had its own issues.

I believe annual shots will be required, and hopefully and all-in-one with flu shots. Moderna is working on this since many months.
