How the Bugatti Bolide is much, much quicker than a Chiron

Revealed late last year, the Bugatti Bolide is by far the most extreme car the company has ever produced. Closer to an LMP1 car than a road car, this thing has apparently set simulated lap times that boggle the mind. Mike Fernie investigates this incredible car, diving into its engine, aerodynamics and statistics.

- Bugatti Bolide weighs less than a Subaru BRZ and has over nine times the power

Frankly even the "entry-level" Bugatti is bonkers quick. When do we start to consider a car too fast?

weight less then a brz , 9 times the power.

the first thing that come to my mind is if the car crash, how much protection it offer to the driver😅

Power ≠ speed (at least not directly), so driver safety still ok to have 9x the power as long as speed is kept in check (like having 9x the braking power for example)

Weight wise, some might argue that a lighter car is safer (seeing F1 cars' crashworthiness), but we know it really depends on where the weight is placed

Overall, driver protection is linked to the crash structure, what material is used to absorb energy, how much crumple space is available to absorb the energy, and also where the energy is directed to (e.g. around the side sill or to the roof through the A-pillar or otherwise)

tldr; weight and power alone doesn't determine protection to driver, but they are of course important factors

The answer to your question is with the car design... :D

Driver die nvm, but if hits a motorcycle or other vehicle after the Bugatti lost control, then the impact to the other rider/driver will be severe.
