Nissan e-power concept is not different from REx EV with 2 serious flaws:

1. Unable to charge via wall plug;

2.  Battery too small.

3. Don't have REGEN brake.

I rather buy petrol hybrid

I drives a Nissan non e-power car.

On point (2), since the car literally carrying a charger around, Nissan figures that there is no need for a large battery. The advantage is also to reduce weight and further improves efficiency.

On point (3), ref article: https://global.nissannews.com/en/releases/181114-02-e#:~:text=“Taking full advantage of the, hence making driving more enjoyable.”&text=The e-POWER system combines, that charges the vehicle's battery.

“Taking full advantage of the regenerative brake system, the e-POWER system enables one-pedal operation, easing driver workload and hence making driving more enjoyable.”

Toyota Prius carries 4.2kwh battery.

Toyota Prius PHEV carries 8.8kwh battery.

How can a vehicle without external power source has a smaller battery?

It does not make sense.

I am curious on the limitations. Anything with regard to fire? Think other than car owners, the insurance companies would be most concerned about the cars.

Tesla has a habit of cutting prices to boost sales... I will wait and see!

Tesla cuts Model 3 prices in Japan by as much as 24%

Tesla Inc. slashed prices for its Model 3 in Japan, part of a wider effort to build its presence and spur demand in a market that has seemed largely impenetrable for the electric vehicle maker.

The base price of the standard model was cut to 4.29 million yen ($40,500) from 5.11 million yen on Thursday, while the long-range version saw an even steeper drop of 1.56 million yen to 4.99 million yen. The performance sedan remained at 7.17 million yen.

The reduction of almost a quarter off the cost of its mid-level Model 3 is the Palo Alto, California-based carmaker’s latest attempt to stimulate sales in Japan. A little over six years ago, CEO Elon Musk was eyeing Japan as one of Tesla’s most important global markets. But as of last year, the automaker sold less than 2,000 units in the country, up just slightly from the year before.

This is the first time the price of the Model 3 in Japan has been cut and the timing coincides with the models starting to be imported to Japan from Tesla’s Shanghai factory instead of from the U.S., said a person familiar with the matter.

Tesla routinely lowers the price of its cars in the U.S. and China, and the addition of lower-cost Model 3 vehicles in other markets has helped sales. Despite its relatively small footprint in the world’s third-largest auto market, Tesla sold 500,000 models globally last year, an increase of 36%.

Achieving volume sales in Japan will be critical for Musk to meet his ambitious goal of selling 20 million cars a year by 2030. Beyond just lowering prices, in recent years Tesla has been cutting the ribbon on a number of new stores throughout Japan and building out its charging infrastructure in the country.

The price cut “should have a positive impact on sales,” said Takeshi Miyao, an analyst at consulting firm Carnorama in Tokyo. Tesla sales in Japan are also likely to receive another “significant drive” from the government’s plans to ban new gasoline cars by the mid-2030s, Miyao said.

Is EV going to be lIke mobile phones, more features at same price or lower prices?

It is after all, mostly electronics and batteries... Okok... I am simplifying things. They are battery powered consumer appliances with tyres.  😂

For a solid-state battery, it needs less battery for the same range.

Chinese military bans Tesla cars in its complexes on camera concerns - Bloomberg News

The Chinese military has banned Tesla Inc's cars from military complexes and housing compounds because of concerns about sensitive data being collected by cameras built into the vehicles. The report said the order issued by the military advises Tesla owners to park their cars outside of military property, adding that the ban was notified to residents of military housing this week.

Almost every car has a dash cam now. Do they have to disconnect every time driving into camp? I long time don't have to drive into any camp already...
