Don't see an alternative, no natural predator and they breed like crazy, one of advantages of farming pigs is ability to reproduce more often than other livestock species.

A farmed 6-7 months old can get pregnant and start reproducing, a 120 days pregnancy cycle,  some breeds can produce at least 20 piglets a year...

Can imagine all the amount of roast pork, cha shao, bacon, roast piggets :D

Ya wild boars and iguanas breed like crazy. For sure need to cull. Just go YouTube to see the hog problem in Texas and iguana in Florida.
Those who keep saying need to protect them and humans get out of the way, need to have boars and iguana living next to them for them to understand.

Iguana pose what problem?

Another huge land of vegetation clearing at Punngol. This is near the Puggol reservoir which is very close to the Punngol walk where the wild boar attack happened. Won't be surprised the wild boar originally reside inside and force to get out of it comfort area.

ya. we import so much frozen pork and ban all pork from malaysia.

now they ownself swim here and what do we do? feed the tigers with them.

we should instead create a green express lane for them to come in.. make the swim less difficult for them.

also the welcome gate should lead to the abattoir straight. no need to even use our land to farm them. LOL

My photo just show a small part of it and it just started recently.

The clearing from near Punggol waterway all the way till beside TPE. May be smaller than Woodlands but still a wide area

The land is parallel to the PCN.

dun need to do culling la.

just legalise the hunting of the wild boar for food.

i bet within 2 years, we need new law to protect them instead😂

Please sign the above petition if you are concerned. Especially since there is another petition for the opposite (to stop any culling), and they got many more signatures.

Just hide in your homes to be protected from wild boars, stray dogs/cats, snakes, spiders, ants, house lizards, wild humans, reckless drivers.  If you know there are wild animals in certain areas, then avoid going there.

Leave the wild boars alone, if you guys know there are boars in and ard these hot spot, and NOT feeding them periodically, thy will go away or die of starvation, the herd mentality of boars are intelligent animals aand can read human's mind.

The relevant authority are aware and concerns of the growing population of wild boars rampaging the lush vegetation . . . beside to cull or not to cull, the decision is left to the authority to handle in a humane manner.I read in a ST forum a writer wrote in, his suggestion is to fence up with shock wave electric fencing perimeter ard the hot spot area with CCTV and camera sensors monitoring system, after all tis is the decision of the authority to release wild boars, monitor lizards, Iguana etc

At Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, a rich biodiversity of wetland and mangrove mangrove forest has a tamed crocodile sun flocking in the sun daily and cobra crossing path and minding his mown business, we don't hear of any Crocodile happening so far , why wild boar is having a frenzy joy ride and creating a buzz . . .What happened to the Rangers in the area, so far nothing heard from them.
