Ender Hypersonic February 26, 2021 Author Share February 26, 2021 Thanks for all the comments and various suggestions. Very informative for me. At least I have some action plans to get working on her cores and decompression of the spine instead of the do nothing and monitor 6 month again. ↡ Advertisement

Measure here measure there Only medical doctors are allowed to order for an xray in SG. I had to check the doctor's registration number before proceeding for an xray in the Polyclinic. It is one of the requirements by MOH. Even for private Radiology centres, also require a medical doctor's order before conducting an xray.

Take selfie? 1) You will need to see a doctor for a scoliosis radiograph. 2) The doctor need to make an order to the radiology to take your scoliosis radiograph. 3) After taking the radiograph, a Radiologist will immediately measure the Cobb's Angle with the software tool Using the Cobb's Angle to check for Scoliosis severity is the gold standard. You prefer someone to touch your back to tell you if you got scoliosis? Unless that person have xray eyes. However if the person is obviously physically scoliotic, then that is different. Okok... I got to explain... with x-ray reading. I have however seen my doctor does it, without x-ray, with the patient (my son) in a certain posture (posterior view). The lateral S curve will definitely need x-ray and these are often what caused some to suffer from GERD / out of breath symptoms. I am just sharing, don't need to touch here touch there. Ender Hypersonic March 31, 2021 Author Share March 31, 2021 (edited) My daughter doesn't have the strength to hang on the chin bar for long. Roughly 6 sec or so of each rep. I am thinking of rock climbing for her to make it a sport and hobby. She really dreads the 'exercise' session I have for her. Basically dead hang, plank, and reverse row. Now I am thinking of getting her into rock climbing, since her brother is really into it. He can guide her. My thoughts is rock climbing builds alot of upper, shoulder and back muscles, and alot of opportunities for hang for spinal decompression. Am I missing any important points or concern that rock climbing might not be suitable, or dangerous for her Scoliosis. When my son started out, he frequent falls from the wall quite often...will that exacerbate her condition? Unless she tries those with harness.

At the HPB Student Health Centre for further investigation, X-ray shows 15 degree, they said nothing to do at the moment, just monitor till next appointment in 6 month. Are there anything like physiotherapy. Google around it seem to concur what HPB suggested. Feeling anxious to do nothing about it. Google and found one orthopedic who in his website suggest it's treatable if detect early. Quite a number of chiro treating scoliosis. Is it treatable or should we ignore the HPB advise to monitor and seek treatment if there's one. I came across this. Don't know if it helps. 🙂 http://www.rolfing.com.sg/Scoliosis.html

hanslee783 Neutral Newbie September 27, 2022 Share September 27, 2022 Been going to Dr Kevin Lau as we want to avoid surgery which is what the specialist seems to be pressuring us for. After 6 months of treatment the review with the hospital specialist showed a 11 degree reduction! it takes dedication from our daughter but the results are worth it. Small price to pay is we want to avoid surgery for her. Dont know if the improvements will continue but we are praying they do.
