While we have heard and read about the chaos covid 19 situation in India,  this reporter provides an insight view of the real situation in Delhi.  The situation is in disaster, from hospital running out of beds, lack of oxygen supply, turning away patients who are in critical condition because they have no more beds and oxygen supply. People are dying outside of the hospital gates, people on the street convert open space car park for crematory purpose and they even run out of woods etc,  they are in a very sad situation.

Unfortunately, survival of the fittest goes beyond biological and into the the financial - who is able to buy the healthcare to both avoid getting COVID in the first place and if you still get it, the treatment to beat it.

Not only that. But also not be lulled into complacency and let ones guard down. Am somewhat assured that Singapore is still doing a very measured approach to relaxing things.

It is for the people of India to decide their future. Their government is rejecting aids and spending $b on military weapons. More concern of election than their people. Nobody can help it they don't help themselves.

People are dropping like flies in India...yet their leader has come out with a greater plan to fight climate change on mother earth than one to combat the fire in their very own motherland...

Truly made in India...is he singing the covered patriotic song there...?

as much as i feel sorry for India, they (Modi's govt) sort of bring it upon themselves

complacent in early of the year, thinking they have defeated the pandemic

never enforce the rules, have mass religious gatherings, election, etc

largest vaccine manufacturing country but mostly export to other countries

and now shit hits the fan

Remind me of first wuhan outbreak, caught unprepared and govt dunno what to do

Remind me also of how people say it’s China fault that they didn’t seal wuhan or warn the world or specifically the US

now one year into the pandemic with air travel severely restricted and India having a double mutation strain that seems more virulent deadly and with the whole world warned and banning flights from India, the strain is still coming out.

Agree, we don't like ceca because of our own government, they did not sneak into our country, it is our own government who welcome them in.

The problem now is this India strain appear to be more severe, extremely virulent. Can reinfect, and can infect the vaccinated.

we are seeing the last two attributes right here in Singapore.

Yes, hard to feel sorry for India for being complacent.

However, if the world was to get back to normal, every country has to either be vaccinated or at least have measures to prevent outbreaks. If they are not doing their part, the world has to chip in no matter how reluctant or knowing how much they deserve their current situation because sooner or later, they will spread to other countries.

cdc relaxing mask rules for the vaccinated amidst these. Let's see how it goes there.

Maybe land of the free becomes land of the freely infected.
