Ah Ong better diam diam as Minister of Health seriously and don't be so cocksure. Every time he say travel bubble on the way, sure pop one. Now as Health Minister, don't suka suka say numbers stable, later numbers pop then he know...😅

The lockdown-like conditions will be put in place starting on Sunday (May 16) and they will remain in effect at least till June 13....Just a week ago..

Is singaporean generally better than Japanese at the three keys discipline......... order, cleanliness, and punctuality?  Even Japan entered its third state of emergency on April 25, 2021, in an effort to bring the country's largest spike in Covid-19 cases and hospitalisations since January under control. New restrictions were imposed in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo prefectures from April 25 to May 11.

Additional precautions maybe necessary ....

Then this will forever be never ending, coz people will then start to demand more and more.

It should allow for enough time to get a quick grocery run or food, and probably nature calls, but if they decide to do a shopping spree then its peoples business.

20 mins isn't enough unless you rush like mad or end up there during non peak.

Saw this comment on Facebook, I believe many would also think along the same line as him. Aka thinking wa, last yr during circuit breaker, we do not need to do swap test in individual HDB blocks and also no need close down whole shopping malls. It's like worst then last cb.

I feel that last year situation Vs this year situation is different. Last yr, majority of covid-19 cases are localised in dormitory. Also last year there is limited test kid if I remember, so can't afford to do too many test without yielding any good results, so have to be very targeted approach.

Now the covid-19 cases are not localised in dormitory but more to there are many unknowns out there who might have the virus and is spreading. Plus now we have more test kid and more ways to test for covid-19. So can afford to mess test more people, perhaps now is shortage of manpower if need to increase coverage of mess test. So it's of logical idea to do testing for those that is of higher chance to get covid-19 with the data available. Like if there are a few cases in the same block within a set timeframe, that can trigger the alarm to do covid-19 testing at that particular block, shopping malls also. So in a sense government is doing what if could to want to break the chain as much as possible.

By looking at it, the approach government take now is even more fast. Like suddenly yesterday late at night where all shopping malls already closed for the day and then suddenly announced Jem and Westgate will close for 2 weeks and do deep cleaning. This is like doing a very speedy decision as no need wait till tomorrow afternoon or what then announced. Immediately do it even late at night and need to close it tomorrow morning so be it.

There is still chance that situation can be under control , but that will depends on next few days covid-19 cases. If there are increasing number of unlinked cases that are not picked up though mess testing of people whom had went to selected shopping malls and asked to do swap test and also HDB blocks. Then yeah it went out of control. However if next few days the unlinked cases majority is pickup by mess testing of shopping malls and HDB then okay, that at least is showing that what government is doing is working. So pray hard for next few days covid-19 situation.

it's impossible ... we got the formidable R-B-A ...

+ strong quarantine measures

Experts said Singapore does have strong quarantine measures to keep imported cases from spreading locally.

"In that regard, I don’t find the rise in the number of imported cases to be extremely concerning. We have quite strong quarantine measures in place, which blocks off most of the risk of spread to the resident population," said Associate Professor Alex Cook, vice dean of research at the National University of Singapore's Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health.

I fully agreed on this, i also gave up on LTA. You feedback to them on traffic light, transport and even illegal parking, they just bring me round and round the circle without suggesting any solution to resolve the issue permanently, and those who replied to me are LTA senior engineer and manager level somemore. I always think how these people able to reach these senior position and managerial level and yet they could not resolve issues? Lol.

Said many times before. LTA rot starts at the top. Most cannot make it organization in Singapore.

LTA rot starts from the level below CE.

With the frequent change in CE, no incoming CE going to fix it.

One cause of concern if the spread can be via lifts? Doubt it but who knows. Or you have neighbors coughing out of the windows?
maybe need to walk the stairs and Aircon 24/7. 😔

Reverse the fan direction in the lift to pump air out, will aerodynamics work better that way?

Say until so scary siah. 😅 From this pandemic, looks like either stay on low floor, no need to take lift. Or stay on the top floor where no scare neighbours would cough out of the windows?!

We did not do all this during the previous CB - swabbing whole blocks, malls and all that - simply because we did not have the capability at that time. The actions may seem to be very drastic but look at it positively that the whole-of-govt approach here can move very fast without politicking holding up the pace.

The number of unlinked cases here is still quite low by any standards in the world but already we're throwing everything and the kitchen sink at it - might be extreme - but better than too little.

Follow China method of isolation. But China does it even more strictly.
my colleague husband was working in a building with 1-2 confirmed cases of COVID. The authorities then sealed the whole building and did swabbing floor by floor. Until the results were known, no one was allowed to leave the building. This was in Beijing and He was stuck there for 2days.
