That applies to all countries as well.

When I was working in Beijing, the entire Cxx are not PRC National.

Other than 2 French, the rest are former PRC.

@Philipkee

I think a few other countries also have a channel to allow people to claim citizenship based on ancestry. Germany for instance.  But not sure whether this channel remains open for those who have previously renounced their German citizenship.

I thought Singapore does not allow this.

Source is here.  It's a pdf file so no link.

@Wind30

thanks for the reply. there is nothing against your point or my point

i guess we both have different "level" of tolerance in terms of risk base approach

btw, CCS long time already spoken about managing risk and not eliminating risk

Further tightening or extension?

Because of the govt incompetence at controlling the borders, we are at this stage already.

And we thought we were going somewhere after months of very low community cases with phase 3.

Well one thing for sure, I am impress that the infection rate of InDia has come down from > 400000 to around 200000 discounted by 50% … they should share with the world how they manage so well..

From what I see, don’t even need US or Asian region for help..

very admirable way of containment.

No wonder it’s the pride of south Asian countries..

*** footnote .. reference to the sun comments for cert

I have a gut feeling they are not far from herd immunity, achieved without immunisation.

I think their risk-based approach is letting most people in from the most infected country. This is also technically a risk-based approach, but terbalik. I can get pogba for saying they don't know what is risk-based approach. Clearly they do. I apologise for questioning the risk management knowledge of the ivory tower dwellers.

Victoria got a few cases straightaway ban them from coming here.

India has a virus raging and everyday we were letting them in.

Risk based approach indeed.

Clap for them.

I guess the current phase 2 heightened alert will ends on 13 Jun. Maybe can go back to dine-in, phase 3 and 75% allowed in workplace again? [rolleyes]

And if the number looks bad just convert them to citizens and PR and justify that way.

It's in our Constitution to let our own citizens in right?

Seriously, the import between Jan to May 2021 from India has hurt us. The 14-day thingy, 1 Sg PCR requirement and the lack of segregation at the airport have collectively caused us 4 weeks of Heightened Alert. The economic impact is yet to be quantified but everyday I see news of retailers closing shop permanently. I don't know what is the financial package this round but this will be taxpayers to pay. And the permanent job losses...

i dun know how they judge those imported case.

but  they need to change.

cannot be after 2 years we still doing the same thing, let them in, positive then put on SHN. etc

we need new ways to cut down the number that is come in and tested positive.

I am not a fan of minister Josephine Teo, although I must say that in this case of the digitally altered banner, I do agree that it is in poor taste.
It is neither smart nor funny.
