As of 7 June 2021, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 5 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection, all of whom are linked to previous cases, and have already been placed on quarantine. Based on our investigations so far, the cases are in the community, and there are no new cases in the dormitories.

2.     In addition, there are 9 imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore. Of these, 5 are returning Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents.

3.     In total, there are 14 new cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore today.

4.     We are still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MOH press release that will be issued tonight.

I only buy Braun Softa-man

This is more "liquid" than Purell and also used in hospitals. I prefer Purell although it dries slower.  Gel is easier to dispense and handle than liquid sanitizer and less likely to damage my leather seats and steering wheel (Alcohol is bad for leather).   I have a bottle of sanitizer in my car at all times.

I worried this type  of low numbers is only possible if we maintain the phase 2 heighten alert. Go back to 8 people dining, open borders, then chicha booom again

I always over dispense. As it dries quickly, it is okay

Thats why you see many countries have been experiencing open up and lock down again, open up and lock down again cycle?! Lol. But dont think they will allow 8 pax from 14 Jun, should maintain maybe 5 pax or lesser for few weeks first?

It will go back to the norm tomorrow.  Normal = 20+ cases.

‘Hardly any data’ on Sinovac’s potency against Covid-19 variants, unlike mRNA vaccines which are proven effective: NCID director

-Vaccines using mRNA technology are among the most effective against Covid-19, infectious disease specialist David Lye said
-He was arguing against recent viral messages by doctors here who urged parents not to let their children be inoculated with mRNA vaccines
-He said the contents in these messages were quoted from dubious international experts
-He noted that there is not enough data about the efficacy of Sinovac, which the doctors had recommended over mRNA vaccines

Mandatory Covid-19 tests for residents of Block 325A Sumang Walk

SINGAPORE — Residents at Block 325A Sumang Walk in Punggol will be swab tested on Tuesday and Wednesday (June 8 and 9), after Covid-19 cases were discovered there.

The swab test will be mandatory for residents of the Housing and Development Board (HDB) block, said a circular by the Ministry of Health (MOH) seen by TODAY on Monday.

“Based on our records, there have been cases of Covid-19 infections in your block recently,” read the circular. “To ensure your safety and well being, arrangements have been made for you to undergo a mandatory swab test.”

Dr Janil Puthucheary, the Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency, which includes the affected block, confirmed with TODAY that the circular is authentic.

“The residents are calm and understand the need for these swab operations to be conducted, I have been in touch with a number of them,” said Dr Janil, who is also Senior Minister of State for Health, and Communications and Information. “Several have contacted me.”

The circular states that the swab tests will be carried out at the pavilion at Block 324 Sumang Walk on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 4pm.

Residents will receive an SMS notification from the Health Promotion Board to inform them of their allocated time slot. They are also to bring along their NRIC for identification purposes.

Dr Janil added that he will also be at the swabbing location on Tuesday, at 8.30am.

The circular states that if any of the residents had visitors from May 10 to June 5, that they may volunteer for the swab test as well.

“In the meantime, please monitor your health and see a doctor immediately if you are unwell.”

This latest swabbing exercise comes at the back of several others in the past weeks since Singapore went into Phase Two (Heightened Alert) on May 16.

Last Friday, residents, visitors and staff at Block 506 Hougang Avenue 8 underwent Covid-19 swab tests after the emergence of a new cluster of 13 infections.

On June 1 and 2, residents living at block 745 Yishun Street 72 went for mandatory swab tests after Covid-19 cases were detected in the block.

TODAY has sought more details from MOH.

Community cases including unlinked dropped drastically for the past few days and  we see news of  hdb block residents required to be swapped. There are still hidden cases lurking in the community?

LHL last week's speech already highlight.

Now the direction is test, test, test. Extensive testing.  This is good.

Unlike Taiwan which is heavily under Test.

There are 8 cases detected at 325A Sumang Walk, including four cases linked to T3 cluster. The latest case who lives in the block is a student whose infection was reported on yesterday

I think the key factor is not 5 or 8 people dine-in, but more of continuing to keep the current restriction on "south asian". And maintain the safety protocol and discipline at our airports and healthcare facilities.
