Pig blood: Why and when was it banned in Singapore?

SINGAPORE: You might have eaten it in Taiwan’s night markets, as blood sausages in the United Kingdom or even remember having it here in your pig's organ soup as a child - but this is not food for the faint-hearted.

Needed a break from Covid topics.

Think old folks will have ate this during good old days

no. it is firmer than the hard tofu. it is silky if done well like soft tofu.

usually no taste if done well and may be slightly sweet too. (bloody sweet kinda sweet)

in taiwan if you eat the fried pigs blood it is a sticky mushy stick. cant describe it.. like a harder stale marshmellow.

and blood sausage from germany. its a bit mushy and taste ok.

certainly no liver taste

Their 麻辣臭臭锅 。。。 Duck bood with stinky toufu also yummy.

last time pig's blood used to be added to mixed organ soup.

i didn't realized it had disappeared.

my mom used to buy it from market, and that was long time ago.

yea i hate pig liver.. my mum cant cook it. either it is raw or hard as rubber. and the taste is off

you go to coca and eat the pig liver.. it taste different.. it is creamy and no funny taste.

however, cow liver, duck liver, chicken liver.. all taste fine.

can still find it in Thailand and HK too.  Used to eat pig, chicken and duck bloods when was younger. Of all, duck blood is of the best texture among the three.  Seen it in Tawiwan, HK and TH, but never had the guts to consume it any more.

Here only lower organs allowed (stomach and below). Upper organs (lungs, windpipe etc) also banned like blood.

For me, I skip all spare parts!

Not a fan of pig/duck blood. Ate once and didn't like the texture.

But I love pig liver, esp those which are still slightly raw.
