The color, thickness and grain line definitely does not look like those bamboo leaves use to wrap other bak chang. Yeah I think its pandan leaves although I am not sure what bamboo leaves look like. ↡ Advertisement

I like to eat but dislike the oily yet sticky unwrap part of the process 😁 Unwrapping your food slowly, and imagine what it looks like inside, is always the most exciting part before you eat. Why you so lazy....

From your picture, and the pictures on their website, quite sure is "pandan" leaves. Wah, this place quite traditional even with their leaves, I guess food sld be good. I go try another day, since I pass by clementi mall almost every weekday. This is the bamboo leaves wrap, it's softer, thin, and darker in color, usually can still see the shape of the whole leaf after you unwrap the chang. This is the "pandan" leaves wrap, it's harder, the grains run parallel, lighter in color, and the edges are usually flat because of the cut. If you get to compare them side by side, quite obvious. Melted chocolates? A pinch of hay bee hiam? Stick a piece of bak kwa inside? ↡ Advertisement 1
