Gurmit Singh fined and banned from driving for speeding at 131kmh

Recommended Posts

(edited)

Its not the ultimate speed of 131kph but the fact he was 61kph over the speed limit.

Its almost double of the road limit.

If he was doing 131kph on the expressway, he'd be 41kph over, which would be a non-event at traffic court.

Good to see the authorities are putting the foot down on these offences, even if they involve celebrities with hitherto clean records.

Gurmit experienced the signature Audi feature.. "some sound at highway speed".

There is always some sound, and that is the Audi Vorsprung Guarantee.

Good car with powerful engine to make him say “I don't know how I got 131…”

Laughable excuse or not, the man owned up to his mistake.

I suggest he bring the car back to PA and ask for 1:1 swap

Probably advertisment/commercial.

Nowadays you read so many young aspiring TCS artistes buying landed(pte) property and than posting it on social media.

Singh told the court that he was driving to fetch his son from the workplace he was interning at when he noticed a "flapping sound".

"After I got him I wanted him to hear the same sound, so I realised it comes out at 100kmh," he said.

"Of course I'm not saying I should drive at that speed at that street, but it was just a short (distance). I don't know how I got 131, I wish I knew, but I just ask the court's understanding that I'm not this reckless driver who does this daily. It's just a one-off thing I wanted my son to hear."

Many years ago in the traffic court, i heard the similar excuse too. The lawyer must be the same person that advised him. 🤣

If A8 then almost excusable - 120 and 90 feels the same. 130 I guess not much diff.

haha yes that is the "problem" with large/fast european cars (and some japanese too) .. you are cocooned inside with little traffic noise ..

not looking down or disparaging cheaper asian cars but going 100 in an A8 vs in a small asian econobox with the road wind and engine sounds assaulting your eardrums .. world of difference ..

thats why he did not notice the speed he was going at, but having said that, it is not and should not be an excuse ..
